Noob has a question on leveling and a job question

Hey all just got the game and been playing but have a question. When I decide to start a new class say Thaum after already having a level 30 Arcanist and the main story quest is up to date meaning I am doing the level 30 main story quest now. Where or how do I level the new class at level 1? Where do i go? Do I do side quests or fates and if so how do i know what zone to go to to meet my level requirements?

Question 2. If I want to play summoner and Scholar can I do that? I mean is it worth changing stats for 10K GC Seals? And Which job is easier to get to 50 first? Thanks all...

Question 1: Yes, side fates and quests along with the hunting log( best way to level imo) will help you get to your Black Mage status.......as for starters out side the Steps of Ul'dah will be good for THM.


Question 2 : Yes you can play both jobs they're to different soul stones , you obtain both once reaching level 30
Also the Hym is no longer 10K seals it more so around 500, and for leveling purposes I would use the SCH for easy dungeon ques and use the summoner for doing fates while waiting , you level both at the same time. I would say start allocating your points to MND just for SCH purposes ....as SMN can pump out a bit + Pet at lower levels but if your low on heals while learning how to manage your pet it could be some problems

Question 1: Simply go to the guild receptionist of the class you want to start playing and talk to the NPC twice (You need to confirm). You will then get a level 1 weapon for the class. Equipping it will switch you to that class and you can start leveling.


Question 2: Yes you can change stats for 250GC Seals (Keepers Hymn if I remember the name correctly). Personally I think SCH is easier to level due to the fact that you can jump into dungeons really fast. Dungeons give tons of XP and you can reset stats at 50 for SMN. Keep in mind that SCH uses healer gear endgame and SMN uses Offensive caster gear. SCH also does pretty decent DPS once you get your DoTs up when soloing, Simply let EOS heal you in the meantime.
