    New player question!

Started playing 2 days ago. Was wondering if the game is worth getting into this late.
9 year Wow player and I know everytime I go back to Wow it has to be at the very beginning of an expansion or else you are too far behind from the general population and theres no groups for the early content, everyone is grinding the latest raid and has the latest ilvl. Its either power through early content to catch up or die bored.

Would like to enjoy this game and see the sights. Was wondering if there is any viability in getting into it without power leveling/gearing through and still being able to easily find groups/guilds to do stuff with that arent speed runs.

You can't really powerlevel here as the system is designed to prevent that with level sync. To do lower level content your level will be temporarily scaled down to the level that content is intended for. So on the way to 50 you can set your own pace for the most part. Once you reach 50 most groups in the Duty Finder will expect to speed run all but the very latest content (and sometimes even then). If you say you're are new most groups will slow down or explain as the party goes. Joining a FC (guild) or linkshell (private chat channel by invite only) can circumvent the speed run mania. I'd think that now is a good time to get into the game actually, since the next expansion is coming out in the spring. I have been seeing a fair amount of returning players in preparation for the Heavensward expansion, and there will probably be more new players once it launches.

Edit: finding groups to do most outdated content isn't hard because of the roulette system, which rewards higher level players tokens for doing different types of content each day. That said, if you level a DPS your queue times will be several times that of tanks or healers. So long as the instance is included in roulette, your wait time will normally be 30min at most (DPS).

Definitely is possible. The game is at a good point right now to join in.
Keep in mind one character can have ALL classes. This means that there are always people running lower level dungeons. People will mainly expect you to know the strategy but if you don't; just say so. If I get a new player in my group, just say you've never been there before and I'll guide you through the tactics.

Find yourself a nice Free Company(Guild) and very often the Veterans will help the new players with content. I know my FC is very active with that (We usually have more people offering to help than fit in the party :P )

As with all MMO's keep in mind that DPS ques for Dungeon's are considerably longer than Tank and Healer que's. Grouping with a Healer or Tank will get you into the dungeons a LOT faster

I just started playing a week ago, i for one enjoy every minute i get on. The ques for dungeons vary depending on if your dps heals or tank. Im currently playing a rogue aiming to unlock ninja. So my que times are roughly 25-35 mins for a dungeon in the duty finder. IF you go healer or tank your looking at almost instant ques.

For gameplay wise I dont feel like im left behind i always see other players running around regardless of what zone im in, im usually in a low level zone since im only level 26. I hope this was helpful, happy gaming everyone.

It is not hard to levelup your first job. You can follow main quests and take optional quests along that way, while wait a spot to dgn/duty finder. It is not an "one week work", but if you care about game story, it's easy and fun at the same time.

Plus, like others said above, if u leveling a tank or healer, it's even easier.

As a recent WoW convert I would say that yes it is quite possible to take your time and enjoy the game. There has only been one time I have had trouble with this at the end of the 2.0 story but SE seems to have avoided repeating that mistake. This game is a pleasure to explore, particularly if your a fan of story.

I'm also same like you, just hit lvl50 few days a go, I've been playing this game almost 2 month already.
I can't say much you need to try by yourself If you're focusing only for 1 class i think you still have time before next expansion, still got few month for you to prepare.

You can compare WoW with Rift but you can't compare this game with WoW because from my point of view its totally different. If you're FF lover, for sure you love this game.
