Question about Summoner relic.

I just wondered because things I've been reading say that skill speed affects Ifrit and spell speed affects Garudas auto attacks.

These stats DO affect your pets damage; however, your pet only supplies a small portion of your DPS. The majority of your damage comes from DoT effects (Miasma, Bio, and Bio 2) Spell speed DOES NOT affect your DoT's in ANY way. That is why it is considered a bad stat on SMN.

As far as relic weapon stats go, Acc/Det/Crit are the most common due to:
1) SMN having to meet higher Acc requirements than BLM (even though gear is shared)
2) Det and Crit are both vastly superior to Spell Speed
3) Cost - Acc materia is very cheap compared to Crit and Det

SMN Stat Weights:
WD: 6.57
INT: 1
CRT: 0.211
DET: 0.283
SS: 0.094

This table shows that 1 SS is worth LESS THAN HALF of 1 CRT. That should be enough info for you right there

Do everything you can to avoid Spell Speed on SMN gear. It has extremely poor DPS returns.
