So I got kicked from my FC for...

This is just the most ridiculous thing. I got ninja'd an invite for a mid-size FC a couple of days ago, accepted on whim, went up the 'ranks' for being active, helpful, and contributing a load to the Hunt Linkshell they had going. Thought I'd found my dream team. Today I got kicked for using an emoticon. Yes. That's right. I added a friendly little 'xD' on the end of a help message to a new player and sh*t hit the fan. I got kicked from the Linkshell, demoted to the 'fools' rank they'd created just to house me, and then got kicked altogether after a few others in the FC reacted in my defence. So that's my story. Anybody else had any drama in FCs they want to share?

If that is the reason they gave you it sounds like total bull. I doubt that is the main reason they kicked you, just their flimsy excuse. Did you ever ask any of them why? I'm sure some of them have to be on your friends list. And what happened to the people you said defended you? Were they kicked as well?

In my opinion, any FC with a "fools rank", used to give players a hard time, whether as a joke or not, is not a good FC to start with; no harm meant by that though. Because, how are you supposed to know what will make the leader, or any officers with the ability to promote or demote people, decide to give you that rank. They might take offense to something, which while understandable for somethings, may not be warrented, especially if they don't get the whole conversation.

The only acceptable rank, in my eyes, is an AFK one, for those member who have been gone for an extended amount of time.

There is more to the story: Apparently "no emoticons" was a rule I wasn't aware of, and when I tried to explain that I didn't expect there to even be a rule like that, I got put in the fools' rank. And yeah, the other people got kicked too, and not because they came to my defence, but because they decided to use emoticons as well. I was more incredulous than mad! Not like I gave them a real reason to kick me... Ah well, a few friends I did make on there are going to start up a small FC. Am I the only one whose had drama? I expect people to throw their toys out of the pram in dungeons and raids, but over emoticons is just... It's just laughable. Anyway guys, thanks for the replies. I feel better for a vent. (Hope nobody minds the tongue face.)
