There are cross-class skills needed or desirable for each job, so it's better to have all the jobs on only one character than have them separated. Some gear is shared among jobs or classes too.

Isn't this also true if you play 2 class on same character? The only thing that changes (besides the leveling part that you do once) is that you have the ability if you want to cap tomes 2 times.
On my Second character I plan to level the Disciplines of Magic only. White Mage/Scholar/Black Mage...on my first character I have Paladin, Bard, Monk. Bard and White Mage are going to be my "main" characters.
Thats why I wondered if they said anything about changing how the caps/lockouts workI guess it will stay as it is.
