PLEASE CAP THE ZODIAC DROP RATE

I am frustrated beyond belief with my Nexus to Zodiac quests. I've spent quite a lot of time and in-game money on upgrading this thing to the maximum it can go and I am stuck on a stupid RnG mechanic which I don't believe even matters anymore. 54 runs in Haukke HM and still no Voidweave. 54 runs. I don't mind even 20 or 30 runs (which did actually happen with numerous other dungeons e.g. Copperbell HM), but 54, god damn, this needs some sort of cap on the amount of times you run it because I am ready for putting my head straight through my television. And I still have AURUM VALE and Sast HM to go -.-
I just want to raid with my static with the maximum available equipment, I've already maxed out my set got a few platinum items and the Nexus just plugs me to iLevel126. But this drop refuses to drop. I suggest that after 50 runs you get the item, no questions. That's only fucking fair. Sorry for the rant but I am reaaaaally frustrated, it is completely ruining my experience.

Im currently in the same boat as you. It's been 2 weeks since ive gotten a key item drop related to the transformation arc.

The current RNG drop rate is a bell curve graph. On one hand, someone somewhere got 1/1 each dungeon. While somewhere out there, someone still hasn't even received their first drop, after countless dungeon runs.

Need a drop system where "increasing returns" play. Where the more times you run a dungeon for a quest item, without a drop, that drop chance increases.

3 weeks, 150 dungeons still not a single dungeon drop. Something must be broken.

Do you have the quests? You can only get the drops actively needed for current steps of quests you have open. So, you can't get the Copperbell HM drop unless you've taken the "Method to his Malice" quest AND already obtained the Wanderer's Palace drop (the first step of the quest) AND turned that drop into the NPC, opening the next stage of the quest (Copperbell HM). You can do all four quests at once and have up to eight dungeons at once that will drop their items for you, but you cannot get the drops unless you are currently being asked for them.

After you finish a quest, you can immediately retake it if you want to the Zodiac quest again for another class.

Seriously. I'm all for helping newer players through old dungeons, but I'm just one person...I can't be running Sastasha HM and Halatali HM all the time like this. I don't play any other content in this game anymore. It's just making me hate this game. I just want my ONE relic upgrade for this ONE character. There is no reason why the RNG is this difficult.

Make the drop rate incremental with each dungeon run, not stationary!

I felt the same way bud got mine now but freak me I hated doing it. I don't mind re ruining stuff with % drops but I find the dungeons having is a bit wtf, I agree after maybe certain amount of runs you can get the drop because my wife is even wonder herself if she should carry on playing the game now due to her not having her drop. It would be nice if we can see a increase in drop rates considering it's not the latest weapon to have anymore. Maybe when the next set of iLV gose up we'll see a increase.

With each new step, SE seem to succeed at making the community hate certain content.

Atma: Community loathe FATE's (more than they already did)
Animus: Community loathe FATE's some more (it was almost as if SE learned nothing over the whole Crystal Tower FATE fiasco). Also had to do dungeons, but those were a guaranteed 'drop', unless you KO'd on boss death.
Novus: Spirit Binding RNG! and then SE changing the SB rules so that i90+ gear no longer guaranteed Rank IV materia. Also required you to run through Expert Dungeons, but was a guaranteed drop.
Nexus: Light farming Primals. I'm sure most of the community are sick of Garuda and Moggle Mog HM now.
Zodiac: RNG in dungeons! Although not as low as Atma, it's still RNG and you will absolutely HATE certain dungeons by the time you're done. Also Crafting and Desynthing, if you're able to.

That about covers everything in this game. SE have successfully made anyone doing the Relic quest line (especially the unlucky ones) loathe pretty much the entire game.

I think SE was correct in creating all of these the way they are, as -that- is how Asian games are played (grind till your fingers bleed), however without demanding a nerf for us wussy NA players, and making the game harder to manage for SE, things are going to be the way they are unless there is outrage in Japan about it.

As far as RNG goes. The Atma RNG with the FATE's was seriously stupid. I got one on the first or second try for every area except the areas that had no level 40+ FATE's (Central Thanalan and Western Thanalan), I wound up camping the hardest FATE on the map to get the Atma's because all the other players or bots doing them could wipe out the trash-grade mobs before my WHM could cast anything.

With the Animus (which I'm on right now for my healer) I'm kinda like ... well this isn't so bad... because it's a collection-book type of quest, and it's not meant to all be done in one day, at worst it will take me a week. Fortunately these were all the hard FATE's but because of timing, I now have to camp the FATE's sometimes up to an hour, and hope no idiot DPS class comes in and lures the boss away with a few hits (A Bard did this to me, 3 times, and I wound up reporting them.)

But I read ahead for the Novus and kinda going "you gotta be kidding me..."

A properly designed game mechanic will not use RNG entirely to determine a result. It will use RNG to determine the window of the result. Let's say something has a 10% drop rate. The RNG property should boost the drop rate between 10% and maybe 30%, but every time the dungeon is played that initial window size increases. So let's say you ran the dungeon 10 times, If the RNG was 0 every single time, on the 10th time you ran the dungeon you would have a 100% chance of getting "required" drops. It might not be the 10th time, it could easily be the 4th time if it was 20+30+20+30. For things that are an a rare reward for easy content, the Window increase would start lower and increase at a lower rate.

That at least would result in much less whine from people who don't enjoy RNG based mechanics. You're gauranteed to get the item, eventually, much like the Echo guarantees you will finish primal content, eventually.

I'm in Animus -> Novus stage for my Omnilex and the alex drop from fate is really worse than atma drop (usually I can get 1 atma per 2 fates).

    You're making me lose hope. I'm at that stage with my Behemoth character's Sphairai and soon to be at that stage with my Leviathan character's Gae Bolg. ;_;

Except that wasn't the case with Atma. It wasn't for a few patches that they eventually relented and increased the drop rates for Atma.
