    Why can't achievement points be a requirement for a quest?

    No one would complain as theres thousands of ways to increase it, but its not easy if the number is high enough.

    Its a number with no purpose other than to show you how flexible you are in the game.

    I think that's an interesting idea, I mean the concept of achievement is to overcome a challenge. Which should be the idea behind an item such as relic.

    Sadly, the difference between "difficulty" and actual challenge, for MOST MMO players (who ask for this kind of thing), is simply the amount of time taken to acquire it. I agree with OP, it should totally be achievement based. But, this RNG-driven, "bore-you-to-death-with-menial-tasks-of-boringness-i'd-rather-be-doing-on-my-freaking-alt" style of upgrading is strictly to cater to people who would rather grind away to get it.

    The only "difficulty" in acquiring anything past the Zenith is simply summoning the strength and patience to deal with the stupid quests in the first place. There is NOTHING difficult or challenging about Level Syncing yourself to death to spam a bunch of FATEs and dungeons you already cleared before you capped.


    Relic weapon felt like something when I had to drop the primals to obtain it. But after Zenith, you're literally doing nothing but playing old, pre-50 content. It's so boring. Luckly, you can choose to ignore it for the EX Primal weapons, but it still sucks that such a cool concept is blocked behind the most boring form of content an MMO can choose to have.

    but hey, you guys asked for it...

    There is no difficulty or any challenge to the zodiac weapon path - it just takes time - it's a grind - for people that doesn't wish to do raids.

    If people are looking for challenge, you go for raids.

    I agree, there is nothing hard about it, which is why i've ignored it thus far. But people asked for this kind of silly grind, and so the relic weapons are now stuck behind a wall of menial tasks.

    It would have been awesome if the objects for upgrading the relic weapons were put in new trails specifically meant for the quest, similar to the Hydra and Chimera. But that's not what people asked for. Sad thing is, it may never change, because then you have a wave of butthurt players angry that all the hours they spent spamming easy fates and murdering the same primal over and over again for hours on end would somehow be all for naught.

    I'm just curious, what exactly do you think you earn by spending time grinding FATEs or low level dungeons, or HM primals? Do you get a sense of satisfaction knowing you just played non updated 2.0 contents for the 500th time and "earned" something?

    The only thing you did is waste time on junk content, time you'll never get back.

    Ideally, everything would be achievement based, and before people kept begging for RNG, it was pretty much like that already. Play dungeons, dungeons have drop rates, tomes act as an RNG cap to ensure you're never wasting your time.

    And then along comes Zodiac quest, and from the jump it's chocked full of everything that made me quit MMOs.

    I'm defending that it is behind a grind wall not the current method of grinding. I have described the grind as horrible in my very first reply.

    Your ilvl method is nothing more than getting a free weapon while upgrading your gear that you are already doing, and going to do anyways. - And I am against this method.

    Zodiac weapon - for non-raider, easy content, but a time consuming grind.
    Coil weapons (or further raids) - for raiders, for players that is after a challenge.

    Seems fair to me.

    No, the currency weapons are the easy content.

    Which part of "far from fair" are you not seeing in player's feedbacks?

    And by your definition, if someone who actually enjoys doing low level dungeon, spirit bonding, doing FATEs, and doing Primal HM and they do it on a regular basis anyways without the relic reward. Then SE implemented the current relic grind method. Then they are getting a free weapon out of it, and you'd be against that too?
