    You'll need to pay for the account which is $9.99 in addition to the $3.00 for each additional characters, so it's only $12.99 per month to play if you have only one character(you can level all classes on one char. so you really only need one). They will announce ahead of time before they begin charging for the monthly fee, the game is still free to play for the time being.
