Another method of obtaining Zidane and Warrior of Light cards?

Been keeping track of all of the Gold Trial Packs I've bought since day one. Thus far:

Baderon Tenfingers 6
Mother Miounne 5
Momodi Modi 5
Ultima Weapon 4
Gerolt 6
Cid Garlond 2

The struggle continues. I love Triple Triad, but I definitely hate this. If I'd have kept all of the MGP I'd saved instead of spending it on something that seems like a 5% chance at a good card, I'd have a good portion of the new minions or Setzer gear. At this point I'm just continuing to buy packs out of spite because I feel like I deserve one of the two cards.

got 3 Onion Knight Cards from about 30 WoD runs this week. the fact that I have to do that many WoD runs in each week is way scarier than the chance to get that card.

i do enjoy the triple triad (like a lot of people) but i hate this pocket stuff, i feel it's not needed, it's a way to add mgp sink poorly. by the way, the goal of the triple triad is not only collect all card, but play against people and beat them. the collection of card is only a means, not a purpose by itself.
anyway, like i have said in another thread the trouble lie in the fact that too many card are gotten via heavy RNG, leading to some example of extremely bad luck, like the person that have get more of 300 card on the soldier imperial npc without get gaius card one time.

anyway, what i have said is more a fact, other rng in the game are part of your action that lead you to have or not luck, here you only pay a pocket and let the luck decide, i find it bad on too many way. FF14 have become the rng land recently and i do hope it will change...

I did over 100 gold packs before i even saw Zidane.
My advice to players is not to focus entirely on getting MGP to get gold packs.

Rather, its better to focus on getting all the easier-to-get legendaries / 4 star cards first before you start going for the hard-to-get legendaries like Zidane/WoL.
Easier-to-get meaning legendaries from trials/dungeons and NPCs.
Of course, if you have already gotten all of those, then yeah its down to farming MGP and your luck.

I'm up to 73/80 cards. I finally managed to get a Zidane card a while ago, but I have yet to see a Warrior of Light. So many packs, so many 2-4-star cards. x_x

Not to mention, I have not seen a single Cecil, Tidus, Firion, or Nanamo card in Platinum packs.

I had to buy a ton of packs just get to Lahabrea from the Silver packs. I'm cringing just thinking about blowing all my MGP on the Gold packs...

Yeah, it's really best now to just get Nanamo and Lahabrea from Platinum packs. They're pretty common enough, compared to the 4 contest win cards. You'll get Lahabrea and Nanamo for "free" eventually that way as long as you do the weekly tournaments.
