This reminds me of plenty of other games, but most notably in Resident Evil games: "This key is now useless. Do you want to discard it?" Well, if it's useless, why the hell do I want to keep it? It's just gonna be sat there taking up a slot in a very limited inventory.

Same thing here. Yes, if the key is for that door, and I have to go through this door, I would like to use it. It should just automatically use the key once you have it.

That said yes it's so frequently redundant.
And in both cases using the key is pointless in the first place. In Tam Tara, when you click on the thing to give you the rosary, just have it dissipate the wall instead. In Haukke, why do you even need that door in the first place?
