This thread is comedy gold. XD
Capitalism.
Correlation between 'product cost' X 'product value'.
Product cost: Effort/monetary value to produce that specific product.
Product value: How much it cost in market.
So, no one will sell things for X-value if Y-cost is near or higher than this X-value.
If someone is selling this waaaay cheaper than you, sorry, it seems you are overpricing your product. You can't complain, unless your fish is bigger or your materias are brightest. Something to justify your high price.
I sell things on markets too, and I will overprice ONLY if I don't have competition for the price.
I must say english is not my primary language, so if you find some grammatical or syntax error, please tell me and I will edit my post. Thank you!!
I'm never going to get my neck melded with you and your "Sells for 400k". It used to be 200k tops, lets go back to those times. :<

Lol the markets for most items are very small, don't ever give someone else tips on the markets you profit from. like someone else said, either be aggressive or dont.
keep undercutting my pockets will get full from using you
Ahhh..... Lol. That was an Example you know?
I usually sell 1 gil less. Like if something was 10000 gil I sell for 9999 gil. The example was a past experience from months ago..... Some of you people will just jump to conclusions just for a like, or something to turn against me. >.>
But I'm always knowledgeable about market supply and demand, it's just players decreasing prices drastically that makes farming and crafting worthless if you're getting only a little back..

It's just how a market economy goes. X posts Strength IV Materia for 600,000gil, Y sees that and posts his for 580,000gil. Z sees them, notices he'll sell faster and have a good return anyways if he posts for 555,000gil. I am Z when I know I'll make a good profit off of a (usually) free materia and I want something sold fast. Yeah, I'll miss out on 30k, but I'll cash out on 550k anyways. If I'm trying to beat someone to a single augment on sale for 500k, then it's worth to drop the pricing.
What's more annoying is that low-priced items, like low-level Materia, are absolutely gutted in value on a regular basis. It used to be an average of ~900-1000gil per materia; a fair trade off all things considered. Then it got blasted to half of that because people are applying the concept of XYZ above on something as low-priced as low-level materia. Half of the time it's people being impatient, but the other half is simply poor business planning.

This doesn't even belong here. We have the Market/Retainers forum for this.
Also, this topic is silly and misinformed about basic economics, but that horse has been beaten so dead that everyone is bludgeoning a puddle of glue by now.
