Does anyone else think PUG kind of got screwed on our R50 Weapon Skill? Granted Simian Thrash sure does look cool, and being R40 i don't know much about the damage potential, however the big problem i see is that it seems unfair to the Non-Tanking PUGs. So my question is, do you think well see a fancy weapon skill for PUG that doesn't require an Evade before a Level Cap increase? The obvious one to give us in my opinion would be Asuran Fists, as it was found in the .DAT files very early on i beleive.

Absolutely is unfair to none tanking pugs.

I don't think that we will get a better WS, but thats why I am waiting for monk!

I wouldn't be surprised if Asuran Fists is a lv 50 Monk skill we're getting.

PGL's skillset as it is now is fine though. Simian Thrash is the strongest WS in the game at the moment after the numerous buffs it received.

PGL is clearly better tanking than DPS - Simian Thrash isn't the only skill it gets that suggests this.

The thing is...asuran fists already is/was ingame...however the trigger isn't.

Originaly PGL was meant to have 2 stances...the defensive one from light strike and the offensive one (no idea what would trigger it) and asuran fists was an WS that could only be used during offensive stance. I remember YG having it listed under the "rank 99" actions for a while...but it was removed with steal and LNC's jump. Maybe in their forums you can still find asuran fists ingame description.

Yea...

a lot of what was on the official FFXIV site regarding classes ended up changing. What was on there then means nothing now.

It is the strongest WS because of the evasion requirement.

On many mobs where it isn't dangerous to do so, you can still taunt on PGL to temporarily focus it's next attack on you,baiting an evade > ST.

Taunt II even doesn't give enough enmity for you to steal hate, but it does temporarily focus the target on you for about the duration of 1 attack.

You can use while not tanking. Taunt automatically pull the target to you for a second or so...so get your TP, featherfoot and time a taunt so you get the next attack.

That doesn't make very much sense. I can't say much about other jobs but I'm very positive that LNC and ARC have much stroner ws's. And if you're talking about PGL only ws's, Vicimize II with 3000 TP is much more effective.
