That is why I think the best way to combat the "unfair" means of play would be through adding a pack you gain from taking part in the tournament that could have a 5% chance to get the card.

    1-3 Get card
4-10 Get 3 packs to try for card
11-20 Get 2 packs to try for card
21+ Get 1 pack to try for card

At least then everyone has a chance to get card, and odds are if a person gets a duplicate of said card the exchange rate will only be 600 MGP or 1k and honestly if the people who might take advantage of the point system are that pressed for MGP, I don't know what to say lol.

With that in mind if they MGP you can get for placing 1-3 or even 1st is 140k then another change might be to have the MGP gained be based on points and win rate So maybe something like

15 wins=100% MGP gain and then point value seeing as let's say you can get 2k=140k MGP

So you have a 15/15 win rate and 2k points then you obtain 140k MGP
If you have 50% win rate and 1k points that 1k=70k but then you would have to cut it in half cause of win rate and you would get 35k MGP

The twist here is people might be less willing to do win trades if the incentive of winning and gaining points also gives them more points so say rather than

The MGP you get is based on what you place it's now placed on your win rate and how many points you accumulated during those wins.

Maybe you win 15 times but only get 70 points a win that's 1050, So you would get a little over 70k MGP
In that same sense a person could have 1k point but only half the wins and only obtain 35k MGP

The idea ties more into how willing people are to throw a match if it means they get less MGP sure the card is nice and people could "trade win" and take turns obtaining it and the MGP but if there is a fair chance for everyone to obtain MGP then people could have more fun with it?
    -------------

In essence the idea is this the 1-20 Rewards would still exist but instead would be replaced with the following
1-3 Get the card and that's it
4-10 Get 3 packs to try for card
11-20 Get 2 packs to try for card
21+ Get 1 pack to try for card

Then based on your win rate and the amount of points you accumulated you are rewarded with an MGP reward.

A tournament vs NPCs would be really boring imo.

We just need a matchmaking with ELO/MMR system.

Disclaimer: What I did was wrong and I am in no way justifying my actions. I exploited the system. Also, please note the Triple Triad Tournament in no way interfers with the main game so purchase of wins in my view, while still cheating, is not pay to win in respect to the main game. Though it is for Triple Triad.

As long as the system remains player controlled, this will continue to happen. If someone is willing enough to pull the people or resources together to establish a top score, it is possible as long as they manage the transaction. I will go ahead and admit I too attempted this and was pushed too 5th even with my resources. The difference between me and the other people win trading is I actually have 24 characters at least level 15 sitting around, and still only managed 5th due to two last minute players. You cannot beat well-organized, monopolized free companies no matter how hard you try.

A computer based system needs to be established to weed out a good chunk of the problems. The roulette system would not work because the players could queue in a timely fashion. A GM managed system would not work because of man power wasted and time constraints. Point system wouldnt work because the randomized approach would isolate players with lower or higher point players.

Unfortunately, the only sure fire way to prevent any means of cheating is to introduce a roulette system that, similar to the standard roulette for duty finder, only matches players from other servers and isolates people into brackets based on their deck limitations and highest card star value. This allows players stuck in the beginning circle to play others similar to them, allows those with two star access some middle ground against a possible Squall or Bartz, and grants the high tier player a standard high tier opponent. Too further prevent players from possibly queue timing, randomize selection by selecting a player then selecting six players after. Randomized of course, so the rotation is 2, 5, 6, etc. For point value, create two roulette options of higher ratio wins versus equal ratio opponents. This allows those wanting to go for maximum points to risk a lose while those wanting to stay on even ground to have a safer bet. What about those who lost 10 rounds? The same level player would at least boost them up to keep going. Sadly, at ten loses you are not going to reach a good position.

The bottom line to this issue is organization. The only ways to properly deal with organization are fair sportsmanship and honesty (insert the Binder picture I saw previously), oversight (too many players, would need too many GMs), or absolute chaos (randomize, foreign interaction). I know the system I mentioned would isolate people who would want to play their friends or family in the tournament, but honestly if people are this upset with the way things are, non-tournament matches are still always available. Similar to any job, one person can ruin it for everyone, so the best way to help stabilize a fair system is to eliminate the chance to benefit with payment, reward, or obedience.

P.S. I already sent SE a ingame Cheater notification on myself so yes, they at least know. Sad thing is I have the math behind me now to succeed next week. That is why we need a randomized, out server system.

playing a game to your advantage as long is not forbidden is not cheating imo, but then vision of people differs...

I thought the prizes couldn't be sold or traded and limit to one if in inventory, like other unique items. Personally, as logical the outcome is on the tourney loophole scenario. Is this the only way to be able to challenge other players? I'd be more surprised if people were really gaming the system by taking a dive if it means building up bulk currency for GS, and passing the expensive loot around to the in folks in their FC.

Just incase there was any doubt at this point:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptm5FF9WRVI

Video demonstrates someone who specifically made a character to prove that the tournament could be & was abused my many. He deleted the card in order to prevent match fixing cheaters/exploiters from obtaining card. SE have any plans to address the community on this matter?
