And when they add the next set of new prizes, they'll make most (if not all) of the previous prizes easier to obtain, and the new prizes will require the grind premium. Nothing new here. The cycle continues.

I can't believe some people in this thread. The OP has a very good point.
Think about how much stuff there is to do and get in this game, PLUS people that actually have lives, PLUS the fact that they release new content every month and a half (3 for big patches, month and a half for small patch). It is impossible in this game to do and get everything you want no matter how much work (grind not fun, work) all because everything in this game is placed behind insane drop rates or insane grinds and other insane barriers. This wouldn't be a huge issue if SE released new content at the same rate as most MMOs. Basically it is overwhelming fast. I literally have to ignore all other aspects of the game outside of Triple Triad just to be able to get Cloud before the next patch releases more content and new cards. Might as well forget about the Fenrir mount and progressing zodiac. The flaw in SE's design is that they do not scale their grinds to match the rate at which they release content. You have very little time to get things done and there is far too much to do in this game. There's the zodiac questline, crafting classes, pvp, and other things where you would have to farm/grind non-stop all day every day. Basically you cannot enjoy every aspect of the game you're interested in even if you're someone that doesn't have to work and have all day such as myself (disability reasons). You have to pick like 1 thing to focus on. Something more reasonable is the speed at which you can get new gear with tomes, like the poetics weekly cap. That's reasonable.
By the time I get all 80 cards and think I can now move on to other aspects of the game I am interested in, there will be new cards out which will also include insane drop rate, price, or other craziness. FFXIV is the first MMO I've played in my MMO history, since Everquest, that overdoes it on the grinds, prices, etc. Just getting a large house in the game costs waaaaaaaay more than other MMOs. I have always been able to get my own house in past MMOs, but not this one. And it is like this with every little aspect of this game. It's a complete mess the way they are currently doing things.

When I say 'enjoy' I am referring to the rewards, the stuff we work for. No you are not. The amount of time needed to get best zodiac weapon for each job, plus ALL pvp rewards, plus all MGP gold saucer rewards, plus all hunt rewards, plus all crafters maxed and peaked in best gear, same with gathering, plus all achievements, plus every mount, plus every minion, plus everything else requires more time than the rate at which new stuff is released. You have not done the impossible. Even if you never slept, also impossible, and played 24 hours straight there would not be enough time.

Enjoying and completing/finishing are two completely different things. One broad, one is specific. You can start something and enjoy it without ever finishing it, because you enjoyed the process. When I say 'enjoy' I am referring to the rewards. No you are not. As far as finishing something goes, it's called prioritizing. It's also called making a decision for yourself. Just like IRL, you're not going to be able to do literally everything in life. A game is designed to have restrictions and rules in place that the player must abide to. For example, you can't just go from lv1 to 50 immediately without cheating/hacking (it is/was possible to do this). It is designed to take time to do within the limitations of what is made available for you to achieve this with. That's how design works. That's also how life in general works (be it RL or virtual). Can the game change to accommodate a faster finish time? Of course. They could instantly mail everything in the game to everyone regardless of level. Is it something they want to do or that it's currently designed for? Clearly not.
You're playing an MMORPG. A genre which solidified the idea of a virtual life. You don't get things ASAP in an MMORPG. You spend years making progress to doing this, and you dedicate those years with massive amounts of hours played if you want to ever "complete" it up to whatever point it is at the time. That is how the genre is. If you wish it to be another way, or even claim it's a flawed/bad design, only shows how little you actually know about it. Things can change, but fundamentals remain... otherwise it wouldn't be what it is.

Umm yeah. I was merely saying that I am enjoying very much the things that I am interested in, in this game. Not that I did all things the game has to offer, I never will, and seriously doubt anyone will. Heck I only play one battle class, because that is what I am interested in, and I enjoy it.

That's great that you guys enjoy it, but for me this game doesn't have any enjoyable processes. Maybe the first so and so times doing it, but when you are required to do the same thing over and over an absurd amount of times to even get anywhere, it's not fun. TT is an exception because it's customizable and always varied depending on who you play. PVP might be another exception.Umm yeah. have you saved up a million dollars yet? and i don mean over the course of your life... but all at once... no joke its kinda hard >.>
"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."

What does that have to do with the OP? This is a game meant for fun, enjoyment, and entertainment, not "Let's make the work similar to real life."
And to add to that, no one is expecting to get stuff within a week or right now. There's a difference between something being rare and having a grind, to something being absolutely insane. I'm trying to play a game and actually get rewarded for effort, not bore myself to tears. And don't even get me started on the broke RNG rates.
Slot Machine...
RNG at pure glory!!
once you get 100k you unlock... extra expensive Roulette 1k pero coin.
Higher reward, higher risk
