How to cheese tournament TT

I actually have no hope of getting the Lightning card this way because a lot of people will realize it.

All you really need to do is get 3 buddies who doesn't care about Lightning to play 10 tournament matches and purposely lose the last 5 to you. Since their Elo are higher, you'll get a shit ton of points as I was getting 120+ from my friend that had won 1 game out of 1 game.

To cheese it harder, the three people you get 5 free wins should get 10 free wins each to have even higher elo.

They should have made it npcs count only, even if it was something like 50 battles with Rowena (ugh). IF you have any player involvement like this win-trading was obviously going to happen. Just look at numerous people who leveled pvp rank from win-trades in wolves den.

Everybody has a price in gils. Especially for a Lightning card.

From what I felt. Gold Saucer is not suppose to be tainted by gils but it is obviously something that will happen. I can get high Elo with couple matches left and I'll just sell them for 2-3mils. Is Lightning card worth 10mils? Most people will say no, some people definitely have the funds.

Selling it is nothing else than win-trading in the end of some sort which completely destroys the purpose of the actual Tournament which was supposed to be fun. Sorry for the QQing but it's just unfair to most who actually looked forward to a fair-play Tournament.

and I completely agree with you. But people will abuse the system to get unique cards.

I would have found 15 friends to job for me just so I could throw the Lightning card away after I won it. I hate Lightning.

But yeah these tournament rules would be super easy to cheese if people wanted to. The question is who really wants to, I mean it's Lightning. Yuck.

So at current people are selling wins at about 100-300k. My gripe isn't so much with this as it's bound to happen in this kind of enviorment but moreso the fact that beating a player gives more points then Elmer. This is where the real core problem lies. Even despite the fact, that a player has to battle intuitively against elmer vs someone whose just losing on purpose, at least those who are not buying it can have a more fighting chance I suppose.

But I can't fault SE terribly either. It was there first attempt at it so there was bound to be something silly with it

And this is the proof Gils is currently poisoning Gold Saucer which was meant to avoid Gils. Sadly, who wouldn't sell wins on their alts? I live in Gilgamesh and this server have so many alts that can help cheesing. It is flawed.

The cards should have been tied to achievements. The way you obtain them currently only encourages people to exploit like this.
