non-retrievable holiday housing items

So, recently I've been staring at my winter seasonal wallpaper (in a room with the summer bomb ceiling fixture) and thinking that I'd really like to replace it. I've stashed the festive tree and present boxes away for next year, and will soon make room outside for the spring cherry blossoms. My problem is that removing the wallpaper will destroy it, and I don't have any other copies. I can't just slap it back on the wall next year.

With every cosmetic item from previous events showing up on the real money store, I'm wondering where the housing items will be sold in the future. They don't show up from the calamity vendor on my character with the achievements. There doesn't seem to be any way for me to repurchase them at the moment. If I tear down my out-of-season wallpaper, will I have to pay real money to put it back up next winter?

I think Yoshi-p commented on this during one of the live letters, saying that they're working on a fix for it. But for now, I'd keep it until they patch out the ability to do so. They seem to be making seasonal events one-time obtain.
