I'm quite surprised this is even an issue. SE has and has had for quite some time, plenty of resources to build the EU datacenter in, um, the EU. Canada seemed close enough for them. I also would expand on this idea and go so far as to ask that the NA datacenters get split up, one focused more in the Western NA and another in the Eastern NA. Not only would this make sense but people would be more likely to join a datacenter closer to their home and that would put them in closer vicinity to fellow players.

Exactly. I'm very saddened to see that again, it didn't even get mentioned at the Heavensward PAX East panel. Though I can imagine that they wouldn't do so as to avoid embarrassing themselves for being such a huge MMO yet still not having an EU server.. I really would like to hear ANY progress report on it. Even now I'm jealous of NA players that they get to have a fuller experience for the same money. I'd be happy just playing with under a 100ms ping. Again, it ruins a core mechanic of a class for example (the NIN Mudras. The lag messes it up bad.)

Please, I beg the people working at Square Enix to help fix the experience for EU players. Or at least give us an update on where the progress on this issue stands. Is it even still in progress, or has it been scrapped?
