I do. How much money people are willing to spend has become a factor when designing the game, as seen with the cash shop. That's what I quoted initially and that's what I believe. Everything else is just you blabbing.

They say trading items for gil isn't against the ToS. However, buying items for the sole purpose of re-selling them for gil (rather than using them for their intended purpose) is not what they want people doing. That treads into the territory of RMT, and that is against the ToS.

Seems they realize they goofed on the implementation of those things, but would rather appeal to the honesty and good-will of their players (lol!) to do the right thing and not buy them specifically to sell them for gil... rather than have to go back and fix the system so you can't.

They are flat out saying "don't do it, or talk about it, or we'll be forced to change how the system works. Please use the items as intended".

I do, but not everyone's opinion, or a whole post, holds the same importance. I quote what I'm replying to and what is relevant to what I'm saying. Now, I really want to ask something for the "pay to win" doomsayers:

You say that paying real money to get in-game rewards is unfair. What about people with real time jobs and family who simply CANNOT get the rewards because they don't have enough time?

So, I shouldn't be allowed a house because I'm a filthy casual who is struggling to get his wallet past the 500k gil mark?
I mean... having more money isn't fair, but having more FREE TIME is?

People had jobs, went to school and ground Xi, which was "far" more grind than Xiv, there are elements of a game that have to be "played" to get anywhere, everyones threshold concerning "grind/time" is different.

It is however getting beyond ridiculous how people define grind, like the guy in another thread who wants all the new jobs to start at 30 so he can skip the 1-15 "grind" >.>.

Simply paying for advancement isn't "playing" an MMO, take up bowling, or just quit gaming and work more or less.
