It's time to reevaluate the idea of adding a PLEX/Chronoscroll-like system to FFXIV

No, I can't, because he is the one given directions as to what to do, he doesn't give SE directions on what to do, and he also doesn't own the Final Fantasy IP. What world do you live in where the people that own the company don't have the final say on things if and when money is an issue or becomes and issue? We so live in a world where it comes down to customers > profit and what's best for the company. Hello PLEX type system, cash shop, retainers, mounts, pets, name changes, fantasia, or some other thing I am unaware of currently. These things exist already for a reason, and they probably rake in a buttload just off of the name changes and fantasias monthly. Or do you deny that too and believe it to be a figment of your imagination?

The link you also posted (OMG LOOK AT THIS INTERVIEW THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PLEX) had and has NOTHING TO DO WITH A PLEX SYSTEM lol. It blatantly talks about ESO and its shift to F2P. The thread was about a PLEX system, not making the game F2P. How is the implementation of this system, without actually moving FFXIV to a F2P model, F2P? I like how you tried to twist that around with the nothing to see here. You know people actually click on the links right and can think for themselves? If you want to play a game that supports such features and services like P2W ones mentioned here then why not go play those ones. A vast amount of people like myself came to this one because of it being subscription based and because of SE's stance of being against offering such services. I do not see SE changing their stance and alienating a lot of their current subscribers just because some people on here ask them to do so, especially when the people who ask for them to do so are perfectly happy using the current system else they would not be playing this one with it's current stance against offering such services...so changing it will lose them a lot of their subscribers if change their stance yet not changing it will lose them none as evidenced by the people asking for it here being subscribers still despite not not offering such P2W systems.

I am perfectly content here, and actually came from WoW, which I am pretty sure the last 8+ years was Sub based.... Lol. I also have of course played many "f2p" games, but always opted for the sub if it was available. You seriously think you people are the only ones that play this game? There are two sides here, not just yours, so get over yourselves. A lot of players, alienate their playerbase, talk about a complex. The burden of proof is on the side of those who are asking/demanding for such a system. We have provided more than enough proof to our side in terms of SE's stance on P2W services like one suggested here which converts real life money for in game gil at which point can be then used to gain a vast array of in game advantages like buying runs/loot, housing, gear, materials and more. We have also provided evidence that the occasion like with ring/bracelets SE stance was they are against anyone misusing it to gain in game financial advantages and that if people keep doing it they will be forced to change it because it is not being used as intended. We know for a fact the cash shop was designed and being used in a way to keep such P2W advantages out of it.

So we do not need Yoshi to come in here and tell us what we already know which is they have no plans to implement such P2W systems and that their stance is against such systems. You are not neutral, you have taken a stance on the issue and as such cannot be considered neutral anymore, your stance being you want it. It is that side of which you stand on the other hand that has kept trying to claim SE is going to do it despite evidence to the contrary. We know for a Yoshi is happy with the current system as shown in the interview Tiggy linked too which also showed they have done the research and 80% of people are happy with the current system.

I know for a fact they will lose customers if they abandon their stance on this issue, I am one of them among many others who have in the past said such on here but they will not lose you as you already said your content here with the current system and they would probably not lose anyone if they do not change their stance so the burden of proof is again on you to prove that the new customers they might gain would make up for all of us they would lose.

Someone provide the poll/data please, since Yoshida apparently polled/gathered data on the playerbase on this subject. We are all about PROOF up in this thread after all, and I just cannot believe this and neither should you, until I/we see the hard raw data. There is no way 80% of the playerbase is against it, unless he just sits here on the forums and counts this as the majority of players, and if that's the case, everyone should just jump ship now. 80% of people? How many people? 4 million registered accounts, and most likely 55% of them RMT/Botters. So 45% of the accounts are actual people/players, and 80% of those people are against it? I don't think so.

Thankfully that isn't the case, so I guess you should check out the billion other failed f2p games that implement pay 2 win ideas like this.

He's the spokesperson for the game. He's the figurehead and I'm sure he has better knowledge of what the higher ups have in mind than ANY of us here on the forums. When he laughs at changing their subscription model when %80+ of his playerbase is content with what we have, I feel as you do Tiggy, reassured.

If people actually want a better thermometer to gauge the financial direction of FFXIV, just look at FFXI, its 10+ years old and STILL going on a sub model with less than half the playerbase as FFXIV. When they change their model, I might start to raise an eyebrow. Might...
