They say trading items for gil isn't against the ToS. However, buying items for the sole purpose of re-selling them for gil (rather than using them for their intended purpose) is not what they want people doing. That treads into the territory of RMT, and that is against the ToS.

Seems they realize they goofed on the implementation of those things, but would rather appeal to the honesty and good-will of their players (lol!) to do the right thing and not buy them specifically to sell them for gil... rather than have to go back and fix the system so you can't.

They are flat out saying "don't do it, or talk about it, or we'll be forced to change how the system works. Please use the items as intended".

Is that seriously not clear enough for you? Too nuanced, maybe?

If you aren't going to read what people say then leave the conversation. You have to actually read what they say to be part of it anyway. You now lack any and all credibility since this admition from you. You don't even care what people say. You just respond to the first sentence you skim over and disagree with. At least with the attitude you gave us in that quote how can you expect us to take anything you say seriously?

It's not up to you to determine which parts of the response are important or not. The person wrote it because it concerns the discussion and is part of his contribution. It's insulting that you think you can just decide his words don't matter so flippantly. Once again. No credibility.
