It's time to reevaluate the idea of adding a PLEX/Chronoscroll-like system to FFXIV

i am so sad to say I have read every single post on this topic to get a understanding of the pros and cons of it.. and to me it really boils down to one simple thing..

players want others to pay for them to be able to play for free. this is the bottom line here. kinda like a back door F2P I want to play FF14 but I don't want to pay for it. so lets put in a system that lets others pay for it for me.

sorry but if you want to play then get out ya credit card and pay just like I do. you are NOT Owed anything to play this game it is not your right if you don't have what it takes to play it.

I know what I said before about having in game gil purchases, but that was mainly because I was really annoyed with the gil spammers and now that I think about it, PLEX was one of the main reasons I stopped playing EVE. Well, that and the thousands of dbags playing the game... Anyway, I bought PLEX, and became an instant billionaire. I had fun for about two weeks buying all kinds of stuff and then was bored out of my mind. I had nothings left to work towards in the game after that and didn't see any point in continuing the game. I just got really bored.

Ignoring plex for a moment, being able to gift game time through the mog station would be a nice addition.

The problems caused by a PLEX system is exactly why this thread is 52 pages long.

You cannot say "let's put all issues aside and, oh look, this is a good system!".
Of course no one cares if your mom buy your sub or if a random stranger gives you a game time card out of charity... or give you time through the mog station.

The main point of the topic is about when you include gils in the equation and actually ruin the overall economy as well as putting "money skips" into the game.

The main point of this topic is about reevaluating whether a PLEX like system would be a good idea or not. Game time tokens (PLEX) that can be gifted but not sold seems like a possible middle ground and is therefore IMHO relevant to the topic.
