Sorry for taking so long to reply... not always browsing the forum.

Well, so if you complete all your job quests you should get, for your left side, i50 or i55 gear in the form of job gear, usually called AF. That's a good start.

For your right side (accessories)... there might be some battlecraft suppliers in Coerthas or Mor Dhona, but it might be easier to just look at the market board. The high ilvl stuff will be expensive, so instead look for stuff that, when you inspect the gear, is around i55 (i45 is fine if it's the easiest to get).

For a weapon, check out your grand company and you should be able to get something i55 or so to tide you over until higher gear levels. Actually, you can also buy "militia" gear from your GC to fill in what your AF gear doesn't cover. All this gear costs seals rather than gil. You can get seals from completing your grand company hunting log (open the hunting log and click the icon that looks like your GC. Red if it's Maelstrom), FATEs, some roulettes, and turning in old gear to a GC NPC (look for supplies and provision quests, then click on the Expert Delivery tab).

So, hopefully that will get you every slot to at least a minimum. Now where to go from here?

Main Story roulette. This will unlock once you complete the main story dungeons, so definitely knock out those main story quests. You'll get 120 tomestones (soldiery as of the current patch) the first time you do it each day. If there's a new player (usually is), you get 100 bonus tomestones.

Now what do you do with these? There's an NPC in Revenant's Toll (Mor Dhona) that will trade them for i100 gear. So this is probably the fastest way to catch up to existing players (but the guide I linked in the other thread has alternative paths).

At this point the game gets very social, so if you're not in an FC already, I would recommend finding one to work on content with.

I know it's a lot of reading, but here's the guide again which is very thorough on stuff you can do, what kind of gear you get from it, and so on. (I should probably add this to my sig...)
So you just hit level 50 in patch 2.5
