Buying Game On Playstation Store

Hello.

I've downloaded free trial of this game on my PS4 and played for couple of days. Now I wanted to buy the game and lucky for me, it was on 50% sale, bought it on Playstation Store. But i didn't get any code or something to link my account and my account is still on trial.

I did something wrong ? The game was already downloaded when I download the free trial version, so what did I pay for ?

I also did the same as you recently. I don't think you did anything wrong. You already had the game downloaded in the form of a trial, but that is only available for a short time to try it out. To continue playing, one must purchase the game, a one off payment, and pay a monthly subscription also.

Check your messages for an activation key. You may just need to go to the mog station and set a payment plan to get the full access. Not 100% about either though as I started on PC.

PS3 and PS4 versions are registered through Sony, so if they're bought from the Playstation Store, Sony already knows about the purchase and no activation key is needed. Nor do you have to set up a payment plan yet, as the first 30 days of full access are included with purchase of the game. (You will eventually need to go to the Mog Station and set up subscription payments in order to continue past that 30 days, but it doesn't explain the problem at this point.)

I got the game before the Free Trial program was added, so I don't have firsthand knowledge of how that Free Trial to Purchase upgrade works. I do know that the normal pattern when buying a PS3 or PS4 version is that it's registered through Sony first (either with a code for boxed versions, or automatically if purchased from the Playstation Store), then when you start the game it asks you to either select or setup a Square Enix account. After that, your PSN account and SE accounts are linked together.

When you start the game, does it ask about setting up an SE account? Or does it just go right into the game like when you were still in the Trial?

I swapped from PC to PS it actually gave me some options like "create new SE accout" and "use old SE account" your char should be connected to SE account I think
