Kobolds and Sahagin

There's something I've always wondered about the factions on Vylbrand. Both the Kobolds and Sahagin frequently struggle with Limsa Lominsa over territory and resources, a feud well demonstrated in game. So what I always wondered is how are Sahagin and Kobolds relations? The Kobolds, being religiously covetous of mineral wealth, seem like they would not like the Sahagin any more than the Lominsans. And I imagine the Sahagin would have no qualms about pillaging Kobold activities (near the coastline).

I doubt they really encounter each other all that much. Kobolds stick to around/under O'Ghomoro while the Sahagin live in the Indigo Deep, literally in the sea.

Main reason both dislike Limsa is because of land disputes; Sahagin needing land for spawning grounds (though admittedly they took that land by force in perhaps the worse possible way) and Kobolds need land for mining. Since I doubt coasts make for a good mining location there is no real reason for them to step on each others toes. Even if they did, they'd want the land for different reasons which would make negotiations easier; Kobolds wouldn't care about the coast being used for spawning ground as long as they get the ore, and it's doubtful the Sahagin care all that much about holding onto ore (I doubt they have ore furnaces in the Indigo Deep). In contrast, Limsa cares about its costal settlements and has just as much use for ores as the Kobolds.

We did have one encounter mentioned where Leviathan and Titan were summoned at the same time and were on a collision course once during the Main Scenario but it says that the Company of Heroes took down both. It's not really clear what the two primals would do if they ran into each other. We really haven't seen battles between primals much if at all.

I could see the two groups coming to blows but I think it more likely that their differing interests would lead to them just avoiding each other. They don't have any particularly compelling reason to hate each other.

For the most part they'll probably avoid each other. But the thing is, Primals need crystals/ aether to survive. Based on personality, I can see Leviathan's followers turn on the Kobolds to temper them and get even more crystals once they run out of resources.

Additionally, Leviathan likes flooding things so that's not a good sign for the Kobolds either, so they'll have to summon titan for protection

Otherwise, so long as both arent tempered they'd probably get along decently maybe have a treaty like they once had with the lominsans: Sahagin gets sea and shore while kobolds get mountains and underground.

When the Ascians taught the Beast Tribes to summon the Primals. The Kobolds summoned Titan and many people lost their lives to it, especially since the Company of Heroes didn't know how to defeat it (though a cutscene from 1.0 seemed to show a group that used 2 different colored scepters vs Titan). Eventually the Company of Heroes succeeded but shortly after Leviathan was summoned. The Sahagin weren't actually able to summon Leviathan right away because they didn't collect and trade crystals the same way the other Beast Tribes did (Kobolds, Amalj'aa and Ixali use to sell crystals to the City States in trade). They began to raid ships around Limsa to acquire the crystals, they were able to summon Leviathan but it seemed the Company of Heroes were able to trap Leviathan in a gulf and defeat it..probably using the experienced gained from fighting Titan. Afterwards the Sahagin had to begin raiding again to acquire the necessary crystals, they used a lot of their pirate buddies to accomplish this.

Encounter wise yeah, they probably never see each other. Sahagin's stick mostly to the west coast of Vylbrand and to north in the Indigo Deep. The Kobold's stick around their sacred Mt O'Ghomoro.

Both Ixal and Amalj'aa were at each other's throats in the original 1.0 main scenario. Ixal were saying how Garuda would beat Ifrit towards the Amalj'aa, which has our role to use Parley with both groups.

It's interesting to note that we could've seen something out of Garuda, Ifrit and Titan if it weren't for Ultima Weapon's interference.
Garuda kind of pissed off the last two by kidnapping/killing their respective worshipers...
