Party shouts in Gold Saucer

On Adamantoise, I haven't seen this occur too much. The most shouting I've seen has been either people getting excited for the cards they just won, or people asking questions. The only PARTY shouts I've seen, have mentioned specifically that their farming for the card drops. I was in GS for about an hour on the first night, and saw someone shout "Leviathan Party to Farm Card in PF", which was immediately responded to by quite a few "Good idea!" shouts. I don't really think it kills too much of that atmosphere. I enjoy all the people, and activity, and just seeing such a large group somewhere OTHER than Mor Dhona . As for the shouting, hell, I've been to Las Vegas casinos, and Chuck Cheezes when I was a kid, and there's CONSTANTLY people shouting in both places, so why not in the GS casino?

I responded to a shout asking for boys on a male alt and found out it was for a guy looking for a boyfriend in gold Saucer :3 Now that was a fun shout to respond to XD

The /shout is great most of the time, be it ridiculous chatter or card related raid groups, that's not the break that I'm referring to. Anything that deals with either the people enjoying themselves, sharing their frustrations that certain cards won't drop or their hate for certain GATEs, forming card farming groups, etc is absolutely fitting for the place.

I'm just pointing out that it comes across as weird to see, and that the chat can often be fun in the Gold Saucer, because of reasons that people are there... to do things related to having fun with content at the Gold Saucer. Seeing Coil farm groups and things along those lines that have absolutely nothing to do with the place though, just brings it back to Mor Dhona standards. So seeing those shouts just stands out as odd, given the music and general look of the place. There's practically nothing about the place that intentionally puts you into the mindset of "hmm I need to do Coil".

I guess you can compare it to someone shouting for a T13 clear in Central Shroud or even a Housing area. I'm pretty sure it comes across as an unusual place to do it for everyone. People gotta do what they gotta do though, so no matter.

So seeing those shouts just stands out as odd, given the music and general look of the place. I can see where you're coming from. I suppose that could break the immersion of GS. And I'm sure it's worse on some servers than others. As I said I haven't noticed too much of what you describe on mine; and if I did I'm sure I'd be singing a different tune haha.

Since the Golden Saucer is a theme park which normally is very loud, let's just disable shout but leave yell in. :3

I mean don't get me wrong, it's not like it's being spammed all day or anything. It's actually somewhat far and few. I'm just sharing how I and some others view it, regardless if it is the most effective means or not right now. And while I'm fairly sure it won't come to it, since most people that ARE interested will be in Mor Dhona anyway, it'll be unfortunate if it really does become the new norm among all groups shouting for LFM. I'd hate to see the fun chat that we frequently come across being overtaken by long text shouts of LFM and LS/FC recruitment lol.

I couldn't agree more. The GS right now has a wonderful FUN aspect and feeling to it, from both the environment and general chat. I'd hate to lose that. It's honestly one of the main reasons I tend to hang out in the GS while waiting for DF. Play a few hands of TT, read the generally funny chat, watch, or participate in GATES, ext. I just like the environment and feeling of the place.

Yes, that's exactly how it should feel for everyone IMO. It's bound to end some time, but for what it is right now, I'd prefer to take advantage of that fun to the fullest.
