    Why no encrypted tomestone?

So today patch 2.51 launched at first i was excited but now i'm more confused as the natural progress of gear has be sent of course.

SE tends to stick to patterns in there patches but this time it makes absolutely no sense!

I recently read that it will take roughly 7 days of roulettes to get a Zeta relic. So it is safe to assume those who have the time to grind will have it in 2~3 days. Why can't i be able to get a weapon that takes 4 weeks of poetics and a encrypted tomestone for that will be i120 to begin with and i130 when upgraded? This just throws those who can't do the grind into a mess when they are having to try and hold aggro from other tanks and dps with 20 item levels higher.

I may have went on a bit of a rant and made things confusing so please comment on any mistakes or questions you may have as a reader. Also feel free to give your opinion below! Are yo fine with having to stick to just the relic or do you wish that you could have a nice magitek weapon?

SE designs weapons for 2 player bases.
Poetics Weapons: Designed for progression raiders in FCoB. These are released to non raiders EVENTUALLY. They have to be careful about how quickly they release them so that raiders dont feel like their work is undervalued.
Raid Weapons (Dreadwyrm): These are for raiders ONLY. They require a huge amount of work and most players just don't ever get them.
Zodiac Weapons: These are designed for the casual player in mind. Players who are not participating in FCoB generally have more time to spend towards farming these items (and GOD do they take forever to farm) but that is their purpose.

Your free ilvl130 weapon from WoD is coming, just hold your horses. If you want an ilvl115+ weapon before then then you need to do T11 or suck it up and get your zodiac. Otherwise waiting is your only option.

Regardless of all of this, holding threat as a tank with an i115 weapon (Shiva since it is very easy to get now) is very possible regardless of what weapons your party is using. Ask my raid tanks. They have done it versus our ilvl130 poetics weapons without an issue.

Honestly, unless you're on FCOB you shouldn't worry too much. As a BLM who loves to pull hate (call me an ass) I always tell my tanks that if I pull I'll either kill it or die trying and to not waste their efforts in competing with me. DPS who have that ability usually have the ability to take care of whatever they pulled agro on. I know not everyone will agree with doing this tactic but it works for us and is fun to test my abilities. Then again, most of my tanks, I can't pull agro after they've established it and they're not always as well geared..... I think you've had some bad runs. But I do agree that waiting/grinding stinks but I don't want it to be so easy I have nothing to do either.

As both a dps and a tank, I tend to follow this rule as well, given how potent the newer tier of gear is. This is especially true though, as someone who mains a monk, since most tanks I party with, tend to only focus their aggro efforts just enough so that it doesn't aggro onto the black mage. Meaning anything I hit stacks aggro against me very quickly at least half of the time. It's hard to call someone who does this an ass, when it becomes an unavoidable occurrence now days.

    This is just silly, though.

Zodiac should be for the casual tier, Tomestone weapons should be for the midcore, and Coil weapons should be for the hardcore. Having two different weapons for the hardcore and one for the casuals completely ignores the midcore.

relic is not for casuals,, its way to grind intensive for that.

the tombstone weapon fits in that category much more so since all you have to do is wait 3 weeks and grab the tombstone is said time once released to wod at least.. very casual way to obtain a high ilvl weapon.

Hmm I'd say I'm a hardcore midcore player

Or a midcore-minded casual hardcore (this is fun).

I agree, we are due for encrypted Tombstones in WoD! Put them on the weekly lockout, that way we must prioritize main over alts. I actually like ST method of oil/sand being on weekly lockout with gear.

It meant me prioritizing, and knowing that I wouldn't have lotting competition since the party is probably after gear (or vice versa)

I agree with the OP, it's really weird at the moment...

My memory is failing me, but didn't we get Tomestone in ST at the same time as Nexus, or even before it?

Either way, it's completely different right now... because if the Zeta quest took as long as the other steps, maybe you could argue that the Tomestone from Wod could be pushed up some weeks, but I pretty much had my Zeta on the first day.... Only reason I didn't get it on the first day, was because of the loading screen thing which I was stuck in for over 4 hours...

They made the Zeta quest so extremely short because the expansion is coming soon, and they want to make it worth it before that... So what about the Encrypted tomestone then?

I don't need it on my main obviously, but I want to gear up my MNK at the moment, and it feels like I'm stuck with old weapons that have been in the game for a long time now, and unless my newly formed static picks up pace really fast, I won't be able to get it through T11-T12 any time soon.

Hardcore players have either Dreadwyrm or Zeta, even on their alts maybe... Medium-core have Zeta. Why would people care if casuals could get the Ironworks weapons? The expansion is soon out, and those weapons isn't as good anyways...

Give it one more patch. They'll likely add the tomestone to WoD then.
