Warning: GATEs don't work on PS3

Of the 4 GATEs I've participated in, all of them suffer from such a severe level of lag that it becomes nigh impossible to complete as you literally cannot see the NPCs load in for a few seconds too long.

I am on Balmung, am in the US, and as stated, on PS3.

What's bewildering to me is that FATEs, even in populated areas like Mor Dhona, never have this level of severity in the lag, so my only guess is that there must be a few HUNDRED players running around that literally never load in on my system. Which is a shame as my fellow FC members seem to enjoy a few of them quite a bit.

And yes, I do plan to upgrade in a month or so to PS4 for Heavensward, but it's another in a long list of reasons why the poor PS3 is too underpowered for the game to function fully. It's just something I think needs to have attention brought to it since there is a chance SE could further boost NPC priority on loading for people without the luxury of getting an upgrade.

For the dance GATE trying zooming your camera out so you can see the highlander and elezen dancers. There are no one on that platform so those dancers might be alright for you to see.

For the others, it's a bit harder sorry . Just have to persevere until you get your PS4 .

They should fix this by separating the users not all need to be in same area when going there.

When you leave golden saucer then its back to all again, though not sure if that is even possible.

There is no reason to ever do this, since the entire game is already cross platform. It would be almost like a step backwards if they were to separate each of the machines into their "own" GS. Friends couldn't do things together inside the GS if they were separated between machines, etc etc.

They should just drop support for ps3, its hardware is severely outdated. No one should complain when something doesn't perform right on it, they should be jumping for joy that it manages to run on it.

There are still millions of people using a PS3 - same to me.
I will stay on PS3 till its really "outdated" and even gone from the shops! (Maybe in 2-6years, maybe never)

And no, Im not poor as you probably will think now. I just have no interesst on a PS4. o_o

I think that could work if the Golden Saucer were treated as an instance instead of a normal area in the world. That MIGHT actually solve some of the issues if you could say, all select different levels to join like housing wards. Then you could still play with friends no issues, no matter your platform and it could cut down on serious lag.

Ah, the Vase Off GATE , there are NPCs roaming the GS looking for the players carrying the vase.
