Not very much time has passed since Triple Triad made it's glorious release, and it’s quite possible that the random rule feels a bit more difficult due to the fact that players do not have enough cards just yet.

If you feel it is posing a challenge, we ask that you venture throughout Eorzea to collect more cards and then try to challenge these opponents again! You’ll most likely feel a difference once you have more cards and are able to use higher tiers of rare cards in your deck.
How would more cards help when there is nothing to prevent the hand dealt to be all 1 star cards versus a NPC which does not have a requirement to have as many cards?

We, aka the playbase, aka the paying customers would feel better if everything in this game did not resort to rng...

The difficulty may come from the fact that NPCs "randomly" pick 5 cards from a potential 6-7.

This. I don't think it's that bad, but I do think it's obvious to anyone it's the most challenging mode as is. Either ease up on those NPC's decks and/or raise the reward for beating them. Maybe even throw a small chance to get cards on a draw, even if it's put in as a lower drop rate than getting it on a win.

You hit the nail on the head with this one.

Grekumah, please log in to FFXIV (using 30 or 60 cards) and go fight Landenel. Once you do that then please come back and tell us if you really think that the random rule "feels a bit difficult due to not having enough cards".

This isn't exactly any different from the random rule in FF8 though...it was actually worse there.

Except that you can stack your deck against random in FF8 by [Card-RF]ing all your junk cards before playing, stacking the deck in your favor much like the NPCs are doing here.

Random on NPCs sucks. But I did manage to beat them all. Once you get 30 cards and unlock 2 stars it becomes much easier, That being said I wont be playing those NPCs again for a long time.

How does it upset balance? This is an NPC. The rules are meant to be working against YOU, the PLAYER, to make it more difficult. Not the NPC. Each NPC has been individually designed with a strategy and difficulty in mind.

Also, check the active help text for Triple Triad. It specifically states that rules do not apply to several NPCs. Yes, it's difficult, but it's doable. Change your deck, grind for cards through other means so you can develop a 2 star or 3 star deck and come back to him.

If you're interested in a strat to counter his random cards: obtain a 2 star deck ideally. Play your first card with a 4 or 5 vulnerable. He will claim it. He will have to claim with a higher number, such as 6, 7, 8 etc. This means he will be using his strongest number to claim yours and will hopefully, depending on card placement on the board, leave his low number vulnerable is doing so. Claim his, with a defensive card (blocking yourself into a corner so he can't take you). Play your cards defensively, don't try to take his cards after that first one. You only need to hold one of his cards to hold the board. Play your highest card (Double Ace if you got lucky!) last to claim anything you can at the end.

Yes, it's random what cards you get to play with. Solution? Get more cards, of higher star value, and increase your chances at getting better cards.

Just because you can't defeat him doesn't mean other people can't, and certainly doesn't mean the game or rule is broken. Rules are there for us, not the game/AI. It's intentionally designed to be a road block and make the game more challenging!

Seriously, go away and improve your deck before complaining waah it's too hard it's broken.

Half of your post doesnt even make sense, because it doesnt have anything to do with the random rule, so why even posting this?

Also when will wannabe pros finally stop acting like it requires skill to beat npcs? they only lose because they are playing bad, and if they are playing perfectly you lose.
Give 5 Star decks from NPCs to players, they will never lose to a 3 star deck if they are not stupid.
