I'm kinda sketchy on their idea of what "balanced" is, but I guess I'd have to see the stats on the new HQ gear before I can really say anything. . .

When they say NM gear will not be enhanced via materia, do they mean gear crafted from world NM drops, or are they including dungeon loot and FNM set gear as well?
If so, I will be quite disappointed not being able to enhance a lot of those with materia.
I think they mean Rare/Ex (U/U) items that drops either from NM or Dungeons. Crafts like dodore Doublet would still be enhancable according to this logic. I will ask it in the French thread to see if I can get an answer. ^^Just needs a bit of clarification in the response:

L'équipe des développeurs est bien consciente des problèmes concernant la taille de l'interface, cela affecte aussi d'autres choses en plus de l'artisanat. De gros changements concernant l'interface du jeu dans sa globalité sont prévus, ce soucis est une des priorités de l'équipe en ce moment.
Il m'est en revanche impossible de fournir une éventuelle date concernant l'implémentation de ces changements.
The developping team is well aware of the problems in regards to the size of the UI, this affect others things as well as crafts. Big changes regarding he UI in its entirety are planned, this issue is currently one of the priority of the team
