Error Code 2002 after new update

After the new update I have not been able to log into the game at all. I try to connect to the data server and all I get is the error code 2002. This is extremely frustrating because the only time I ever got this error was back when the game first launched. So I'm thinking it could be because a lot of people are signed into the game because of the new update or it could just be an issue that is only effecting me. HELP!

Yes I too am having this problem. I am guessing that too many people are logging in because my brother is in the same house and is playing as I am typing this, it is annoying hearing him in the background "the Golden Saucer is soooo cool to bad you can't get on"

I am also recieving this problem.
I don't believe that it's a problem with there being too many people, but this is getting annoying. I've been getting 2002 errors each time I've tried to log into the Data Center.
I checked my connection and router and all come back positive. So that means the problem lies with YOU Square-Enix! Whatever you did to "fix" the problem with the NA/EU players that caused them to be "Unable to move to contents Worlds and then unable to log back in" has apparently caused further problems.

Update:

I tried logging into another Data Center to see if it was just an issue with trying to log into my primary Data Center: Aether.
I attempted to log into the Chaos Data Center and received the same error, 2002 (followed by an immediate shut down of the client).
I also tired the Primal Data Center with the same results. So I believe I would be safe to assume that I will recieve the same result until this issue is resolved.

This is ridiculous lol. I'm starting to get a headache from this. I've been trying all day to connect to the data server and I'm still having no luck.

Well having the same issue myself. Didn't download patch for 12 hours after release because I was at work. Was excited to get home install patch and play now just get 2002 server connect error. Not happy.

Hopefullly someone in Technical Support is actually reading these or at least a moderator is bringing this to their attention.
I do not know about the rest of the people that have reported here but the sequence of events I have experienced are as follows:

- Launcher start-up: normal
- Log-in: successful
- Update to version 2.51: successful, no complications. Launcher restarts as per usual.
- Successful start-up of game-client
- Attempt to Connect to Data Center / World content: Failed ; error [2002] ; game-client disconnects and shuts down. All FFXIV:ARR processes stop.
- User restart of Launcher: successful
- Log-in to Launcher and Game-client: successful and normal
- Attempt to Connect to Data Center / World content: Failed ; error [2002]

I and others may have been continuously hitting this wall for several hours now with no word on whether or not ANYONE at Square-Enix has even acknowledged the problem.
The previous issue that it seems you have fixed seemed to be similar to this. However, the issue that you fixed was where people who failed to connect to their Data-Center/World were unable to log back into the game. That does not seem to be the issue here.
What does appear to be the issue is that players are unable to get into their Data-Centers/Worlds at all. We keep getting disconnected ( error 2002) on each attempt.

If it does matter at all to someone in Technical Support, or even to this situation, I know that I did not log-out my character prior to last night's maintenance. I was in an instance when it began and was subsequently disconnected. And from another Tech. Support thread it seems you (Square-Enix) are also having trouble with the Instance Servers.

If there is any information that your technicians require I am sure the people reporting this problem (and others of course) will be willing to provide them.
Here's hoping that you can get this issue fixed!

Same problem in every way to Zanair's description. Clearly this isn't an isolated incident, but no one has been acknowledged. Not encouraging. =\
