You make it sound that healers are to DPS. Otherwise we are awful.
Judging people on their gear. You have lousy gear, so you must be awful and your opinion void.

Change that attitude of yours and maybe people are willing to listen. Now you just sound like a big elitist *insert something here*.
Seravi may be a little blunt, but the points are valid. And no, you can't judge a player's ability based purely on their gear, but when you factor in their apparent gear and achievements as a context for their strange assertions about how a class works, you can at least start to draw some...correlations. E.g. There are skilled players without any Dreadwyrm drops, whether due to RNG or lack of time or group, but most of them are regularly doing content that naturally helps to upgrade their gear. They typically aren't running around with Weathered pieces.

And yes, healers are to assist DPS when it is appropriate to do so or they are bad, just like the player of any other Job who insists on doing the bare minimum and stands around being unhelpful once they deem that requirement to be satisfied.

Yep, that's my point. Your gear or achievements or views alone don't form a stereotype but the combination does.

I would be pretty surprised to see many healers who legitimately believe their DPS is meaningless that have done meaningful content like Extremes or Coil. It is a skill like I have been saying. Knowing that you can do it safely also means you know when you could throw up stoneskin or hardcast raise or just not do anything. Doing it by choice is a sign of skill. Doing it by apathy is not.

Did you just skip every cutscene in the conjurer questline?

I DPS as healer because I am comfortable with it. Unless you are joining a premade 'speedrun' group, no one should expect you to go outside of your safe comfort level. It does take some getting used to... Similarly, if I join a DF group and the tank is only doing small pulls, it's not correct for me to push him to go outside of his comfort zone. If I join a DF group, it is a roulette... I could get someone who is really comfortable or someone who isn't. Either way, I will keep my mouth shut regarding DF groups and whether or not healers should dps or tanks should pull a lot. I might suggest it, but never force it -- and I certainly wouldn't kick someone over it.

So, long story short... they were being rude. The only time anything should be 'expected' out of you is if you join a speedrun premade PF group (where healers are expected to dps to keep the runs fast).

Point is you are not gonna make someone like that happy, you may as well mess with them. Its always the dps/tank that gets hit by every aoe/cone that says stuff like this too.

With all this said if this was normal halatali as sch im fairly sure the fairy can heal on its own, so its do dps or stand around, and whm is just super boring in dungeons till about 32. Also at very low levels the gain from cleric stance is minimal, using attacks without it are still fairly useful.

Exaggerating and/or doing it wrong. All things in moderation. Has this actually happened to you? Because I rarely ever see a party rage about it when they ask (not that I ever see successful asking regardless).

Honestly, what do you even DO in low level (pre-level 30) dungeons if you don't DPS? There is nothing that can even do enough damage in there to require you to press the cure button more than once every 4 or 5 GCDs, I'd just be bored out of my damn mind from all the standing around doing absolute jackshit I'd be doing.

And on that note, I hope we're all just talking about WHM here because as SCH in those dungeons you can just auto-follow the tank and go afk if you don't want to do anything but heal.

As a WHM myself, the party you encountered technically just didn't understand how the WHM works(which they should by that point, considering it's literally the life-blood of the party in Light Parties).

A WHM needs only DPS when it has to(i.e. Stonefall Circles on ST), considering how their MP is going to determine whether the tank is going to live or not(assuming that the tank is doing his job).

When do you ever run out of MP from Sastasha to Haukke?
