    MATERIA Attaching "Bazaar Request" and Ward

    I know I tend to be long winded so I'll try to keep it short:

    I'd like to suggest/request the addition for an "Attachment Request" similar to the "Request Repairs" interface we have in bazaar, along with the Mender's Ward.

    I understand a whole new system would probably have to be made, since this time around, you'd have to provide two things. The equipment to be attached to and the materia. Unlike the repair where you just provide the gear (and compensation, but that should obviously still be there), though I STILL think I SHOULD be able to provide the material if I feel like it, but I'm not about to suggest an overhaul of this system. Or did I...?

    I also believe a Ward for this would also be appropriate, but I am not sure a new ward should be made. I think, probably, just renaming the Mender's Ward to something else that reflects it's a place for crafters to find work (like Synthesizer's Ward or something), and making it standard for both repairs and attaching.

    How viable are these suggestions?
    Could they possibly get into the game?
    I don't want to pressure, at all, but this sounds like something that should be in ASAP as the materia system will be the biggest hype Eorzea has ever met. Is anything similar in the works, maybe?

    thi could not work since a failed materia attachement would break your gear, is something you would need to go to the crafter and set some terms and conditions in case you loose your precious +3 weapon you wanna attach materia to because the crafter was not good enough doing so. while in repair you just loose the repair item afecting just the crafter and not the person doing the request

    lest say im a bad person, i got lots of materia stones on my bag and i want to make you mad.. i got to your bazzar pick your gear +3.. and fail the materia attachement so you loose your item. then one day you come back to get your shiny materialize +3 gear just to find out its not there.

    and thats why it wouldnt work. dont sweat it , you want materia.. /sh for it, /check the crafter and do your research since the gear your about to use materia on is at risk of demise!

    agree 100% with this. also if someone tried to upgrade a piece of gear and failed they could get mass /sh hazing for being a gear destroyer

    Mate, I've already covered that. I said this system should require ME to provide the materia used, hence why I think it might come as a bit of an "overhaul", since they need to allow us to add that item in the interface. It wouldn't make any sense if the person could slot in whatever the heck materia he wants and however many times he wants anyways.

    And if the attaching process is automated like the repair process, I see little difference on whether the person fails with you there to watch him explode or not. As long as the person allowed to "try" isn't a Rank 1. It should say "skill too low" if his skill is... Well too low.

    Not to mention this could, if for some reason it's so painful to not see it break in front of you, be used for just your first slotting.

    I thought about this in the past for regular crafting where players who wants equipment to be made to have a request up when they have all the materials required and reward, but back then the problem I had when thinking of this was if some noob that just got enough level to synth the item comes up and crafts that person will most likely fail ending up with you losing the mats.... this also can apply to this materia craft... but then again... i thought about the trade system.... just the part where you have to 'accept' the trade.

    What if..
    1. Player (A) that wants materia to be attached puts request with all required items, materia etc for the materia craft
    2. Player (B) that wants to perform the materia craft looks at the player (A)'s bazaar and clicks on the item they are willing to craft for player (A)
    3. Player (A) gets a icon, notification that Player (B) wants to craft for you - on this screen it will display the players crafting class and levels. It will also ask do you "ACCEPT" or "DENY" Player (B) to craft for you?
    4. IF player (A) chose "ACCEPT" then Player (B) can perform craft as usual.
    5. IF player (A) chose "DENY" then Player (B) will get notification that Player (A) denied the request kindly.
    6. IF player (A) doesn't respond in some time due to AFK or w/e then also acts as "DENY" and nothing will happen
    If the player accepted he is accepting the risk of losing everything and betting all he got for the player (B) so he can't get mad.

    I dunno how materia craft is going to be like if its going to be same as regular crafting where you have to go through that crafting mini game process or it just happens or not like repair. If it goes through regular crafting mini game process then that person (B) can be an a** and start the synth but do something stupid to break it on purpose. So might need like some player rating, kind of like ebay seller rating, more higher rating the player gets more trust you can have with him/her.

    I haven't even looked at the item request feature in the bazaar options in months and months so I don't know if it's still the same one it was at launch, but if that is the case the biggest change they need to make is allow people to request items that aren't currently in their inventory... Because it's pretty dumb that in order to request X number of crystals I already NEED X number of crystals AND those crystal's can't be used while I am requesting them.

    If we were able to seek items not currently in our inventory an enterprising person might then sell the materials needed in that same synth for competive prices... meaning that if a crafter doesn't have something they could buy it from the person, make the item then sell it to them.

    To try and force a system of trade on top of that would only cause headaches much like reinhart has pointed out.

    Though, for materia, a "seek attachment" option might be handy. Of course it depends on if binding materia to an item is a process that can result in failure and loss, in which case, probably not a good idea.
