Crit is a very important stat because there are classes that just outright suck without it, and determination is 0.325 of a main stat which adds up a LOT.
The only stat that is meaningless is skill speed.
It bothers you because it is true. I would assume that the jobs you're thinking of when you mention Crit are Bard and Scholar.

Regarding Scholar:

Healers are terrible examples for this argument because the secondaries are actually meaningless for them. Although, a better word might be unnecessary. A healer can heal a fight just fine if they:

- Do not crit a single time
- Take 2.00 seconds to cast every healing spell
- Heal for 50 less HP per cast than stacking Determination provides

Regarding Bard:

Critical Hits are definitely useful to them. This is why they have Straight Shot and Internal Release. They crit enough even if you don't stack the stat.

Regarding Determination:

Determination is weighted higher on gear distribution than Crit or Skill Speed is. On average, you'll find approximately 30% less Determination on piece of gear than an equivalent amount of Crit or Speed. When comparing the stats, you should compare 44 of a stat to 31 Determination, or 31 of a stat to 22 Determination. If you do this, you'll find that Determination is almost equal to Crit in many cases. It's often the best stat to stack anyway, but it's not nearly as good as people think it is.
