More questions from a newbie

So I'm in love with the game so far. I hope it gets better once i actually hit level 50

Some questions:

1.- when do I get my 1st mount?

2.- I see people with glowing weapons- are those relic /zodiac weapons?

3- I don't want to do disciplines of land or hand, are those required for materia or could get someone to put materia for me?

1 - Keep up with your story quest line, it will lead you through it at level 20.

2 - Some stages of the relic glows, others dont. There are non-relics that glow as well. You can try some on from the market board.

3 - Only disciples of the hand can affix materia but you can request they do it for you.

Just a quick addition. That's Story quest level 20. Not Character level 20. On first playthrough most people are around 23 when they get the Chocobo.
(You get the chocobo quest right after you join a Grand Company)

Ok I got the chhocobo but how do I use it?

use the item in your bags. then you can either use the Action "Mount Roulette" or in the character section of the micro menu > mounts > select it. Either can be placed on a hotbar for ease

It is only a mount until you are able to train it. Thats a level 30 quest i think. That will teach you how to call your chocobo to fight beside you.
