This is incorrect. Even if a ninja manages to steal an OP for all of one second and take it form their team before the other team manages to take it back, it evens itself out.

For example, let's say that as a Flame, I take Adder's OP. That's 20 points in total; 10 for neutralizing the flag and 10 for capturing it for the Flames.
The Adders then immediately claim it back, resulting in 20 points for them as well; 10 for neutralizing the flag and 10 for recapturing it.

In this instance, the only team that really loses is the Maelstrom, due to the fact both the Immortal Flames and the Twin Adders managed to just make an easy 20 points each for their teams while the Maelstrom got nothing.

Secure is designed so that even if you can only capture a point for 10 seconds, it's still more beneficial than standing around and doing nothing. And hey, in 8v8v8 man secure, the longer you hold another team's outpost, the further they sink into last. You get 2 points every three seconds while their team's score stagnates and gets nothing. While it may seem silly, it's better to do it than not.

Of course, not being a doofus about it is good too; you should always take an OP when you know they're not coming back for it. This has saved me and my team numerous times when we lost the node in the middle when it spawned. The resulting points you gain that the other team loses out on are too beneficial, even in 8v8v8.
