    Tank stat build

Question for anyone that plays either warrior or paladin and knows the mechanics behind the job. Been playing warrior since the games PS3 beta and love the job, I'm good at it but I always strive to be better since it's my job to keep the enemies attention.

Question I have is what actually helps build hate? I've been sticking to VIT/ACC/Parry as my main stats but lately I've been seeing tanks favor STR/Crit/Det for primary stats.

This is what my current stats show for those 6: Vit/Acc/Parry - 651/575/576 and Str/Crit/Det 512/396/239. I also put all my bonus stats into Str. Any tips for helping me be better are welcome.

My main point is this: dps=threat.

To expound on that, for war, you already have a boost to health, so you can sacrifice some of that vit. In fact, war is built to not need to stack vit, although it's nice in some situations. Pld is very vit reliant, and doesn't really need the added str, dps is bad either way, and is not worth the loss in hp. Regardless of what most people think, parry is usefuk, but it's also a very niches stat, meaning that unless the content primarily delivers physical damage, parry is not what you should be stacking. Most damage in 2.5, and most even in scob times was magic damage, rendering parry useless for those hits.a 33% block or parry is always nice I'm t9, but it's still an rng stat

And drop some of that accuracy, fcob cap is 555~ at t13, so anything above that is completely wasted

Ok so getting i120/130 Slaying accessories will help improve both my damage output and hate build?

    For DPS/hate:

STR > SS to 9 hit Berserk > Det > Crit > SS after 9 hit Berserk

If you're just looking for more enmity, get SS to your personal cap for 9 hits (390-420), then stack as much STR as you need. Best way to do this is with accessories, in which you have multiple options: pure STR accessories, Platinum accessories melded with VIT/STR, or Ruby/Topaz accessories melded with VIT/STR. STR will definitely add the biggest boon to your enmity, secondaries won't really affect it as much unless you reach a rather high amount.

My Skill Speed is 356 atm, never bothered much with it since I was told it's useless. So if I go with platinum accessories what would be a good meld combination to maximize skill boost to draw more hate?

Xenosys Vex actually made a good video on melding Platinum accessories and explains it better than I could (I don't even have any :<):

I got mine as pld, so after switching to war for a static, I realized I was a bit short on skill speed. I say a combo. The fending earrings give you an innate 19 accuracy. The rest should be slaying, that's if it's crafted. As for poetics, I havent looked at tank poetics since I got my last body piece 3 weeks ago

Big fan of the platinum crafted accessories here. Only reason to use i130 accessories is if you want pure vit or pure str and don't mind giving up a LOT of one to get a LITTLE of the other. Or if too poor to meld crafted I guess.

Currently t13 is toughest encounter there is and you can warrior that easily in 11k or less HP (which I hit with 5x crafted accessories and 30 points in Str).

General goal is to get the minimum amount of HP that your healers can comfortably work with, then put all remaining resources into other things (like parry or DPS stats).

I went man mode on the slaying piece, I got all of the as lv 4. Xeno is great, and he did the same melding I had chosen to do, my only mistake was going with mostly fending over slaying, at the time, I was a maiming pld, but even then, parry is unreliable at best, if at all useful for the content. Once I get the gil, I'm replacing the pieces with slaying and reeling all of it (Aside from the fending earrings, it has more accuracy than can be melded onto it.
