Battle square, Ive been wanting this very badly.

My concept of similarities (and changes) from the FF7 model-

I think the reward should not be MGP, but BP (Battle Points), and they can only be spent while there. Once you exit the area, remaining BP are forfeited.

The Battles would be a form of monster rush design (much like Skirmish from 1.0), where there is no time out of combat to replenish HP/MP/TP.

There would be a roulette whenever the next enemy spawns, where handicap is applied. These modifications stack and remain active until the end of the chain.

The enemies would be decided randomly from 2 or more pools, progressively increasing in difficulty, ending with a boss style mob. BP awarded scales accordingly.

Matches can be performed Solo, Duo (including Chocobo), or Trio, (no light parties). Handicap potency, enemies and rewards would scale accordingly.

The rewards exchangeable for BP will be more profound than basic glamour. It may include Difficult to otherwise earn Triad cards, Greens for Chocobo racing, unique components for building airships, a key part for crafters to construct their own mounts, perhaps even poetry-tier equipment.
