Apparently if you get penelized for qwithdrawing too many times from the DF/missing it...you can't play Triple Triad with the NPCs.

Either that or I'm glitched, one of the two~

Edit yayness: So as it turns out, I can still challenge them. Its just that the markers are removed from their heads and the challenge is moved closer to the bottom of the screen, with the npc in paticular I was going at the time having a long list in their menu.

Still seems wierd.

The penelty I know, its the Triad part of it that surprises me.

Yeah the icon disappears for some reason. And note, some NPCs will only challenge you during certain times of day so don't worry if they refuse sometimes.

That one I know too, I actually triple checked the/a TT site my FC linked me to make sure. But yeah, just seems wierd.

I think the icon disappearing is an oversight. We may see that fixed in the future.
