Item link text untranslated

Yesterday I saw someone link the Zidane Tribal card in chat. I play in English but the text showed in Japanese as カード: ジタン・トライバル
Hovering the mouse over it showed the proper English item description so it looks like only the item name when linking was missed.

That may not be the case. I play with someone who lives in Austria, she speaks English, but her client is in German. Anyway when she links an item, the link itself is the item's name in German, but when I select the item and get the entire description, I see everything in my language, English. The person who linked the item may just have their client in Japanese. If it is a friend of yours you could simply ask them, if it was a shout I wouldn't worry too much about it. Try asking in the Gold Saucer if anyone else has the card and if they could link it to show you. If it's in English, then the first person was probably using a Japaness client. If it's in Japanese, ask what client they are using, if it's English, then yes the card has an issue that needs to be fixed. I hope this helps a little.

Ah, thanks for your response. I was unaware that the chat link would be in that person's language and had just assumed that it would auto translate the names the way linking targets with <t> or coordinates with <pos> does. If you're right, I stand duly corrected!
It's just that I'm on a JP server but it's the first time I can remember seeing an item linked in Japanese. It may just be that the feature isn't used as much in say and shout channels by Japanese players.
