Personally I can't tell what he is exactly saying in that quote, it seems very wishy washy. First it seems like they are saying the quest wont continue, but then they seem to be sayings it is a possibility. I wish they'd just give a straight answer. Hopefully if they havent made a decision yet they do soon and then tell us. The best thing to me would be if they made an entirely new quest. Maybe people who have their Z can skip a step of the first quest or something, idk. But in other games (::cough::wow::cough:: [please dont jump on me, yes I play multiple mmos]) the closest equivalent to this zodiac weapon is a legendary, and you just get a pat on the back for completing that. It's useful for the current tier and then it's done and you get bragging rights for having it but not much else.

Tiva If SE just Give people who completed the quest a pat on the back, then I can guarantee you only One of two things will happen come 3.1 none of the ppl that did the 2.0 relic quest and completed it will do the 3.0 one due to same shit will happen come 4.0, it's way too much work (grind) for just add a boy!! Second it will be the same shit will happen again the same ppl that complain now will fall behind in 3.0 quest line and complain agin. I don't know why people keep thinking the expansion will bring a lot of new people because I really don't think it will most it will do is bring a few thousands but what it will do is have all if not most of the people that bought 2.0 and left the game to try it again and they will probably leave again due to the shit still smell the same just different paint.

Zeta is currently BiS, and at various times throughout 2.x relic has been BiS or arguably close. It has served it's role

the hamster wheel gear progression has been going on forever, I don't see how this is some bitter pill for some to swallow

The expansion is raising the lvl cap. The next relic grind will involve increasing the weapon lvl (not ilvl, it's regular lvl) from 50 to 60.

Perhaps those who've reached novus phase will get to keep their secondary attributes choices(as picking which secondaries you want is the real/only advantage to relic).

Really though I don't think <<Z>> holders should expect much, you're only going to be disappointed.

Xenosan I have nothing agaist relic in fact I have 3 at zodiac stage working on all getting to zeta stage, what I'm getting at is there will be a lot of pis off people if SE just drop this relic for a new quest/weapon/w/e you want to call it in 3.1 and not continue this one in 3.1. If they did that your better off farming w/e ex primal weapon is best at that time than to waste countless hours upgrading a weapon you know will be disgaurded come 4.0.

Popular theory out there is that there will be a new relic. Having the old one would essentially give players a head start, and those without may/may not get a boost to the new relic's entry level (that is to say, perhaps either through a super-simplification of the previous relic's steps, or perhaps a literal boost in the form of an "Unfinished Relic Zeta" or some such thing). But to keep the current quest model that they have? No thanks. I passed on this one, and I'd surely pass on the next one.

I think for a business perspective SE would be a little dumb to make the relic continue with no form of massive catch up. At the end of the day they are company that needs to make money. They have already lasted much longer than I anticipated with paid sub, I hope that continues a long time. But that will only happen if they have a large group of players. How can they get more players? Mostly new players are attracted by expansions. And what's a great way to discourage new players? Keeping the relic quest as it currently is. It's a huge hurdle for new players or returning players. I have a group of friends considering returning and they are all still from relic zenith. They downed t5 and then got bored of the game for lack of content and went back to raid in other games. Now that SE is producing more content they are interested in playing again, but not if they need to grind a million relic steps just to be competitive in Heavensward. I'm sure others will think similarly.

you can actually know the answer without them posting any info on it, we'll get new relics, it makes no sense to do a year on the 3 new classes to get to the point of last current relic weapon and then another long tiem grinding for the new relics.. they would get way too many complaints to avoid that they obviously make a new quest line, would make it more fair to the 3 newer classes aswell..
