I don't personally have a source for this, as I've only heard it through hearsay, but at some point, I've been told that Yoshi stated that current Relics would be used for something in the expansion. That might just be some sort of title or for glamour possibilities, though. If they do in fact continue the questline in Heavensward, I imagine all present steps would be greatly simplified and shortened as much as possible.
