I can't decide my main class... PLD vs BLM

BLM to have ultimate fun and destruction. PLD for one thing, and one thing only: INSTANT QUEUE.

BLM for massive Damage if you can master the attack combo.

PLD for tank role, faster queues, but you'll need to develop a little S&M since you'll be taking hits from everything even the player base as they verbally abuse you over every single mistake you make. Th S is for causing pain because you'll need it if you want to charge into a mob of enemies.

Do both. You'll get bored of one, you can switch to the other.

If time is a factor then I would go tank. Faster queues.

And, happens to be that, the unique classes I have been using in FCOB till the date are BLM and PLD.

I don't recommend you PLD except if you have some kind of passion and devotion, it's the damn more easy job of the game, boring as hell, almost no skill for use, just know when to time the stuff and done, there's no really challenging mechanics or stuffs for tank, but, at least, war have to manage a lot more of stuff...

I'm currently 'main' as PLD and... It's a hell.... So glad I can switch sometimes to BLM with the BLM of our group so he goes PLD instead of me.

BLM is not exactly too mobile, similar to tank you just stay there... But, hey, at least... You have to try maximize DPS while helping party with some strategic buffs and also deal with those DPS-lower mechanics.



In dungeons, it is how unique I can see PLD easy but funny... But, trials and raid you die of boredom.

Do what you enjoy the most.

But remember, this game needs more tanks not DPS.

Playing a tank ensures you that you will find a party 70% of the time, however playing a dps is only but a 30% chance and that's still liable to fluctuate even more so depending on raid set ups.

I had a similar problem deciding either on a tank or dps class originally, and a good friend of mine asked "Do you wanna set 'em up, or put 'em down?"

Then yadda yadda yadda, I'm a SMN :P

Put as other said, do what you feel comfortable with and most of all what YOU enjoy. But I'll agree with sovalou above me in, "this game needs more tanks". Couldn't agree more.

You can use STR accessories on PLD too, and a PLD in Sword Oath can put out more DPS than a Warrior.
Just sayin'.
