    Triple Triad Checklist

I love checklist spreadsheets, so I made one for Triple Triad. I used the data from http://ffxivtriad.com to create it.

    Here's a link.

To get a copy you can edit, go to that link, then go to the file menu and click "Create a copy."

There are two tabs: one for cards, one for NPCs. On the Cards tab, put an x in the checkmark column if you have the card. As it says at the top, an orange background for an NPC/duty/etc indicates that it is the only way to get the card (counting different versions of the same duty as the same thing, such as Ifrit HM and Ifrit EX). Card stats are listed from the top number going clockwise. Next to the number of cards you've collected is a number of *s indicating the limit on four of your five cards. When your collection hits 30, it'll change to **, and then to *** when your collection hits 60.

On the NPCs tab, do not mark the far left "Done" column. Instead, if you've beaten the NPC at least once, put an x in the "Beat" column. There's a ***** card that you can get from beating 30 unique opponents, and the number of people you've beaten will turn gold when you've marked off 30 NPCs.

The cards that the NPC can drop will be purple if you don't have them and green if you checked them off on the cards tab. Once you have every card an NPC can drop marked off on the cards tab and the NPC marked as having been beaten at least once on the NPC tab, an "x" will automatically appear in that NPC's "done" column and the NPC will be grayed out.

In other words, the only thing you should have to do to the spreadsheet is to put an x next to every card you've obtained and every NPC you've won at least one match against, and the spreadsheet will do the rest.

The tier of the NPC denotes how much they cost to play, and also how much they give on a win. The rules indicate the fixed rules for that NPC - if you notice, all 1st tier NPCs (and the 0th tier NPC) have the "All Open" rule, and all 2nd and 3rd tier NPCs have the "Three Open" rule. No 4th or 5th tier NPCs have either of those rules. I found that interesting.

The Req column lists any requirements you have to meet to play that person, such as having Ixali rep at Rank 7 to play vs Sezul Totoloc. This column is incomplete and I'll update it as I hear of more requirements (for instance, I'd bet the Indolent Imperial requires you to complete the quest "The Ultimate Weapon," but that's hard for me to test).

The NPC card lists are currently blank. When I get the time, I'll add those later. Let me know if you have any feedback or if there are any errors on the page.

To update your sheet when new cards come out, I recommend following these instructions:
    1. Make a copy of the latest clean version of the spreadsheet.
    2. On your old spreadsheet, in the "Triple Triad Cards" tab, select all of column "A" (the one with all your "x"s in it) and copy/ctrl-C.
    3. On the new spreadsheet, in the "Triple Triad Cards" tab, select all of column "A", then rightclick and choose "Paste Special - Paste values only".
    4. Do a quick check to make sure the right cards are all marked correctly - I try not to rearrange the cards so this will work, but I did insert a card once that I had missed, so it doesn't hurt to verify the transfer worked right.
    5. On the "Triple Triad NPCs" tab, do the same thing, except with the "B" ("Beat") column, if you're tracking the NPCs you've beaten at least once for those achievements.

    Changelog
v3.2.1 - Updated for patch 3.2 with all currently available information. Added all the new cards, added a ninth card to the Gold and Mythril packs, and put in all currently available information for the NPC opponents. NPCs will need further updating, particularly when someone hits Rank 8 with the Gnath.
v3.2.3 - Added exact quest names for Vath and Vanu Vanu opponent requirements. Still missing confirmation on the Vath Deftarm's drops and rules.
v3.2.4 - Added quest names for Sezul Totoloc and Mogmill. Still missing Wymond's quest and probably a few others. Added in some more win/lose/draw values (still missing a few, especially for the new ones). Added the details for the Vath Deftarm. Made the number of stars beside your collection indicating star limitations max out at three stars. Marked House Fortemps Manservant as being rank 3 (not rank 4) because he has the rule "Three Open."
v3.2.5 - Added two missing card drops from NPCs - Chimera from Fufulupa and Tonberry from Memeroon (thanks, Shisana!).
v3.5.1 - Updated with all cards up to patch 3.56.
v4.0.1 - Updated with all cards and NPCs from patch 4.0, but some cards lack how to get them and some NPCs are missing card drops.
v4.0.2 - Missing data has been filled in, and all cards and NPCs from 4.0 are all set now.

It's been confirmed by many players that you do not need rank 7 to play with Sezul but that there is a timer for lower ranks so you can only play him at certain times if you aren't max rank. I don't think anyone knows the details of said timer however.

I don't understand how this sheet works. It's on "read-only" to me...

Thanks! I'll keep updating the requirements as they're known.

Go to "file -> make a copy" to make your own copy of the sheet. It's read-only so no one can mark up the copy that everyone sees.

I think I'll add notes to explain the sheet rather than relying on people reading my explanation here.

You need to make a separate copy for yourself in order to edit it. It was mentioned in the OP, just after the link:
"To get a copy you can edit, go to that link, then go to the file menu and click "Create a copy.""

(I'm not certain whether that requires having an account with Google or not. For me, it automatically put it into my Google Docs when I did that.)

Okay, the sheet has been updated. If you are already using a copy of the sheet and want to use the new version, I'd recommend just making a fresh copy and copying over your x's. That'll be much faster than copying over changed formulas and formatting and such. If the notes copy over (not sure if they will) and you do not want them, just go to "Edit -> Clear notes" and they'll all go away.

    Changes:

New information has been added, taken from ffxivtriad.com. A couple mistakes were corrected, but there is a lot of misinformation being posted to that site. The most common mistake people are making is confusing two NPCs that are in the same zone, and claiming on the wrong NPC's page the drops that they received from the other NPC.

There is a new tab - Triple Triad Packs. This is just like the NPCs tab, except for the card packs and individual cards. You do not have to do anything on this tab - it'll all automagically update.

I have added notes to the sheet explaining each column and any dubious information. I do not know if these notes transfer when copying the sheet.

Cards that can only be obtained from a specific NPC or from a specific card pack will now highlight in gold in the NPC and Pack tabs, just like on the card tab.

Most of the win/draw/loss values have been added.

If you find any mistakes on the sheet, feel free to post here, but unless it's a technical problem with the sheet, you should also go to ffxivtriad.com and post there. Please take careful note of what NPC you are playing against before posting to an NPCs page on that site. Many people are not and causing confusion.

Thanks for setting this up. I like keeping track of such stuff, and your checklist spreadsheet is set up much better than any I might have come up with, even if I found all the data to fill it with.

I make these all the time because I find it fun. Really, it's just practice for the MIT Mystery Hunt, where being able to throw together a complex Google Drive spreadsheet to solve a puzzle with remote team members is incredibly useful.

For FFXIV, I have one that tracks each stage of the Zodiac questline that I should share at some point. A few parts aren't quite done - animus page only tracks dungeons with an eye for overlap with another job's Zodiac, novus stage isn't quite done (can't get all the PLD numbers or the PIE meld chances for any class =\), and I haven't bothered with the first stage at all.

I have one to track beast tribe faction, which helps you see the optimal order to do Ixali quests in for the fastest progress. I shared that one here a while back - no idea if anyone cared XD

I also have a really complex one for crafting, but I dunno if I want to share it. You fill in the current MB prices on the raw materials tab and it updates all the raw materials that can be crafted and shows which ones cost less to buy vs craft. It also updates the final products tab with the cost to make various items, and if you enter the sale prices of stuff, it tells you how much profit you'd make if you sold it at that price. It's really easy to use it to determine the most profitable crafts at any given time, and if you include the sales speed of the item (# of days between now and the oldest sale on the item's sales history), it'll calculate estimated desirability. The desirability formula also takes into account the investment/profit ratio (how much money is tied up in the item before it sells vs how much you make from the sale). You can also mark quantities sold, and another tab shows you your profits and is set up so you can track profit over time by copy/pasting a line with the formulas removed every time you reset your for sold items list. It's also broken down by category so you can see what craft is the most profitable for you (for me, back when I actually used the sheet it was LTW hands down). Another tab shows profit from desynth automatically updated from the other tabs. Another tab is an endgame crafter gear checklist (updated for 2.3 - stopped bothering to keep track after Artisan's tools) which includes the price to maxmeld each piece of gear.

If anyone wants any of these, feel free to ask here and I can (re)share them. The crafting one though, if you want that, you'll have to contact me privately as I don't really want to put that out there. Also, the crafting one hasn't really been updated since 2.3. When I had what I felt was enough money, I became rather zen about crafting and stopped caring if I made a profit or not. I mostly sell raw materials, items obtained via desynth, and items brought back by retainers these days anyway.

(contact info located in the spreadsheet in the top-left note)

I think the OP has done some great work but do you know FFXIVTRIAD.COM does a checklist?.. Yup, all you need to do is login
The link is not shared on the main page for whatever reason..
Also with this you will not need to worry about additional update lists and copy/paste ever again ^^

    http://ffxivtriad.com/login

Once you have checked off NPC/Cards they move to the bottom of the list, so you can easily compare the timers of the NPC to the cards you need..
