I'm curious on how the devs are going to implement the Alexander raid regarding groups going for world progression.

Will the raid be available as soon as Heavenward drops or will it be released a week or any frame of time later to give the players time to LV to 60 and enjoy some of the content without having to rush through it it order to compete for progression?

I'm curious because I am part of a world progression team, and although I will it if comes down to it, I would prefer to not skip all the new story and content in order to get in Alexander as fast as possible and enjoy my time exploring Ishgard along with enjoying all the new content and main scenario.

I believe BCoB was accessible on day 1 of 2.0 launch. Looks like you'll probably need to steamroll the story and 10 levels if you want to be world first.

Just because it's avsilable doesn't mean you have to steamroll through the story. Go at s comfortable pace, kf it's quick it's quick, if it's slow it's slow.

I agree with this however many of these large raid groups don't really care much about the story and pressure all their members to skip through the main scenario ASAP which means many have no idea what the story is and don't care they don't know. I believe it will probably be accessible content from day one 3.0 is out. I guess someone such as Nocurcity will have to decide what is more important to them.

I got some information from a reliable source a little ago that the raids will be release at a later time that the patch/expansion itself, which is good to know and a relief.

Yep, confirmed. 2 weeks of game play before raids will be out. Shiny!

Personally, I don't think 2 weeks is long enough.

My static really wants to get into Alex, but I want to try out the new classes. I dunno how I feel about spending all my free time trying to get to 60. And from what I understand, this expansion is HUGE. Will 2 weeks be enough to enjoy it all before the raid starts calling to us?
