    [dev1026][dev1131] XP Penalties

Most players are happy with the new XP/Claiming/Linking system, but are concerned about the possible exploits.

Having said that, I have two question for the Dev's so that some insight could be gained.

    1. With the claiming system, will we recieve an SP penalty if players outside the party help to kill a mob claimed?

This will obviously allow for one of two things:
    1. XP isn't penalised - Exploit for PLing.
    2. XP is penalised - Exploit for Greifing other parties.

    2. With the linking system, will xp be penalised for aoeing or attacking targets that aren't the primary target?

I'm assuming we will be able to aoe now. Problem is, this can render some current disiciple of war classes less effective for grinding over disciple of magic. Thaum can take quite a few hits and still dish out massive aoe damage in short peroids of time. Whats to stop gathering a group of Thaum and tactlessly spaming aoe.

My guess is when someone else attacks the same mob as yourself, the exp will be split between the parties who engaged the mob based on how much damage each party dealt.
So if your party deals 70% of the damage, you'll get 70% of the exp.
And my guess is you'll still only be able to get exp from one "party" of mobs at a time.
So if you fight one enemy and it calls for backup you'll get exp from the original mob and the ones that it called for backup as well as mobs that already fight in parties.

So that would mean that if you fight something that isn't in the same party as what you were originally fighting, you won't get any exp until what you were fighting first is dead, then the exp will be reduced depending on how much damage you did while fighting the first mob.(s)

I hope you're wrong. I think about how many parties would fight over raptor grinding camps ect. *Shudder*
