Reading this, I imagined the following dialogue:

Yoshi-P: How about a new "free login campaign"?

SE CEO: Why?

Yoshi-P: We reached 4 million accounts and the Golden Sauce will encourage some inactives players to renew their subscriptions.

SE CEO: More subscribers? You mean more active players and more revenue?

Yoshi-P: Yes, that's it.

SE CEO: This is a dumb idea!

Just as an fyi, here's another conversation SE frequently has which would also generate a crap ton of revenue the likes of which any current game can't compare:

Fans: How about a remake of Final Fantasy 7?

SE CEO: Why?

Fans: Because we want it desperately and are willing to spend anything for it.

SE CEO: Ehhh... But what about a sequel to another game? Lightning's cool, ya?

Fans: No, we want remake. Literally just upgrade the graphics. We will seriously pay anything for it.

SE CEO: This is a dumb idea!

In conclusion: SE does not always jump on revenue making ideas.
