I've seen a few people asking for these at the races now,i'm curious as to why?Is there any benefit to these at all?

I don't think so, just to know others I guess, the queue is pretty fast at least in my server. But I may be missing something.
I asked the CR desk crowd this earlier today and most were either AFK or popping in and out racing non stop.
I did get one brief response that more humans racing equates to better prizes but they were gone again pretty quickly and no one else confirmed nor denied the point so I don't know if it was true or not.
Even if it is true I doubt the difference is really that significant and you can get a quite decent MGP flow going with a half/mostly NPC race so I don't really see the point...
I'm sitting at around 170 races now and it doesn't matter how many real players there are, it always gives the same amount of points depending on placement. I believe the reason that people want to make race parties is so that they run with players instead of majority NPCs, I ran most of mine solo and most of the time there might be 1 player to run together with but in a party you can have 8 players to run with which might increase the fun as most NPCs are really stupid
Funnier that way. And the bonus one random chocobo receives at the end would go to a player, not a NPC.
The bonus going to a NPC always feels like "huh, what a waste !".
I view CR like Mario Kart. It fun to screw over another player but there almost no meaning when you do it do a NPC. Same happens you get screwed over. If I get brambled by a npc, its just bad luck. If its a player, I get mad :3 Damn bastard, ill show him.
I remember one match one player screwed me over one match. Got in another match with him and made sure to nail like 3 brambles on him to ruin his day :3 I was laughing pretty hysterical at that moment. Involving friends intensifies it.
