I don't understand why people think there's going to be a "Gunblade" class. There isn't. It would be much more simple to instead, make a weapon model for the Machinist that looks like a type of gunblade. This, I could see them doing.

That isn't to say that sometime in the future they might implement a job that actually does use a Gunblade for a weapon (though I doubt it, seems that kind of technology is closely tied to specifically the Garlean Empire).

Though expansion jobs won't be using gun blades, unless like I stated, it's a special type of weapon model.

I doubt this, since it was said that the jobs would be available from the get go as long as you had the expansion and could reach the new areas.

I feel all new jobs will likely move away from the cross classing skills altogether. I think that instead, the new jobs will likely just receive more specific skills to make up for not having cross class skills to choose from. This would also help to further diversify new jobs going forward, which means they won't be tied to using other older class skills or job skills from jobs that quite frankly it wouldn't make sense for them to be using. Jobs would be their own thing without needing skills from other jobs, and perhaps in the future each job will have special paths that might branch out to further diversify playstyles (but I'm getting ahead of myself here), though this is just speculation/hopeful thinking.

I just don't think new jobs going foward will utilize cross-class/job skills, and I hope they don't. If all new jobs have more skills to choose from then there won't be a need for such a system with them.

Also, likely the only requirement for actually "unlocking" the new jobs would just be completion of certain main scenario quests. I just don't see someone needing to level up different classes or jobs in order to unlock these new jobs. Though, it might be that a requirement of at least 1 level 30 or maybe even 50 DoW/DoM might be needed since it might not exactly be a pure cakewalk to wherever the npcs that start these quests are. We'll see.
