I've been reading through this thread, but what i don't understand is why people are so against PL'ing? It's not like you HAVE TO... If you want to work for your ranks/levels (like i do) then kudo's for you. But if somebody wants to get to a certain rank in order to play with friends, do dungeons, want to perform a specific role in a party, etc... What's wrong with that? It's his/her choice, not yours. If people ask for money to PL, so what? It's not like you or anybody else have to accept that offer.

Why should anyone care if someone else wants to be PL'ed or help someone (perhaps by PL'ing him/her)? It's their decision anyway...

For the mass pve, instanced, cluster---k he meantioned they wanted to add in the future... also easy... everyon in the raid is considered in one mass alliance, parties still exist, but claims/rewards/ability to target/heal is shared among the alliance
PL'ing is not cheating. It's a sanctioned way of leveling a character through the help of others. Nothing wrong with that... Personally, i don't want a system where you can't heal someone who is not in your party. If i'm doing my thing in the game and suddenly i see someone fighting a monster that i think (s)he will lose, i'll help out by healing him/her. Just heal, so that (s)he can kill the monster. Afterwards, I don't want some kind of reward for that. A simple "Thank you" would suffice.

Also, from what i understood, it's the player who attacks the monster first will claim it and recieve the rewards. Even if (s)he gets help from the outside.

Yoshi said the following is his post:

"I decided that it would be best for the player or party that attacked the monster first to obtain rights to the rewards. This makes it so that “the early bird gets the worm,” which I think is the simplest solution."

    And also:

"I will provide an example involving soloing that is easy to understand. (Power leveling a party involving multiple levels is complicated) Suppose you attack a level 50 monster with your level 1 character. If a level 50 character nearby kills the level 50 monster, the skill points will be given to the level 1 character.

However, the gap between your level 1 character and the level 50 monster is too large, so the “defeating a higher rank monster bonus” will be significantly reduced. The experience points earned by the level 1 character will be adjusted quite drastically.

Suppose you attack a level 3 monster with your level 1 character and a level 50 character nearby kills the level 3 monster. The level 3 monster is appropriate for a level 1 character, so there will be no major drastic loss in experience points."

So, it doesn't matter if i would heal him/her so that (s)he can kill the monster, or if i just one shot it if i feel that (s)he is in trouble. I will not get any reward from the monster, so in my opinion it's a win-win situation for the person i was trying to help.

Didn't Yoshi say the following in his post?

"It is not easy to distinguish whether the above actions are an act of good will or serve the purpose of RMT or leveling up other characters for money.

By investigating logs, it is possible to identify for-profit violators and mete out punishment, but it would be very difficult to completely put an end to these actions."

    And also:

"Players can aggressively fight each other over experience points, classes that do not do much damage are at a disadvantage, and for-profit violators can create bots that randomly attack monsters and steal EXP. (As I said earlier, we will punish for-profit violators. However, we do not want to ban ordinary players, so it will take us time to properly identify for-profit violators.)"

For now it will appear that they aren't doing anything about bots and RMT's. The same applied for FFXI, WoW, and other MMO's i've been playing. However, every once and a while you will get to see messages on the official sites that an x amount of accounts have been banned due to RMT/Illegal activities.

Games will never be rid of RMT's. There is always a way to do it outside of the game. However, SE can bring it down to a bare minimum by detecting the RMT/Illegal activities and banning their accounts.
