After all, why would 5 battledance materia suddenly turn into a Quickarm materia? They're not even remotely close in ability or hue!
Mutamix will not give you back a materia you've given him.
So don't give him 5 of the same type. For example, give him an earth, fire, wind, water, vit. He should return some realm saving materia rather than something useless.
